The Catalans were looking bring Griezmann to the Camp Nou to help beef up their attack and move Philippe Coutinho into a more central role like Andres Iniesta used to play. However, the French World Cup star shocked them by declaring that he would remain at Atletico Madrid this summer and even signed a contract extension with Diego Simeone’s side. Hazard claims Real Madrid are his dream club and just last week he reiterated his desire to play for them one day despite the departure of Zinedine Zidane who is his hero. Los Blancos are also planning to raid Chelsea and sign the World Cup star after the end of Russia 2018, but they would now have to beat off competition from Barcelona. Barca believe Hazard can occupy their left attacking role that has been left vacant since the departure of Neymar last season. They are prepared to match whatever transfer fee Madrid offers.
