NBA PREDICTIONS: San Antonio Spurs VS New Orleans Pelicans Expert Picks

The San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans play round two of their game in a Spurs VS Pelicans matinee set for 3:30 p.m. EDT. The difference between round one and today’s match is that this contest will hold in Frost Bank Center. Despite the venue, the Pelicans have six straight wins against the Spurs. For a Sure Win Prediction Today, MatchPlug has the NBA Predictions Tonight for Spurs VS Pelicans. Predictions and Betting Preview For San Antonio Spurs VS New Orleans Pelicans 2023 NBA Regular Season Venue: Frost Bank Center, San Antonio, Texas. Date: Sunday, December 18th, 2023 Time: 21:00 Teams to play: Spurs and Pelicans. NBA Expert Picks: SPREAD -7.5. Odds by BetMGM and 1XBet. Betting on the San Antonio Spurs 1XBet Spread: +7.5 1XBet Moneyline: 3.87 1XBet Over/Under: Over 238.5 BetMGM Spread: +7.5 BetMGM Moneyline: Under 237.5 BetMGM Over/Under: 3.60 The San Antonio Spurs caught 18 consecutive losses on Friday night. But, their franchise-record stretch of failure ended, when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 129-115. Devin Vassell had 36 points, which gave the Spurs a 20-point lead in the first that they never gave up. Meanwhile,  San Antonio scaled to 24th in defensive rating, even with the losses piling up. Them being one of the best teams in preventing offensive rebounds helps. However, there are still many holes in San Antonio’s defense. They are one of the worst teams at forcing three-point misses and even with Victor Wembanyama’s masterful shot-blocking powers, opponents shoot 65.1% at the rim. Betting On The New Orleans Pelicans 1XBet Spread: -7.5 1XBet Moneyline: 1.389 1XBet Over/Under: Under 238.5 BetMGM Spread: -7.5 BetMGM Moneyline: Over 237.5 BetMGM Over/Under: 1.30 Getting six consecutive head-to-head victories, all since 2022, says a lot about how the New Orleans Pelicans’ matches tend to end. Especially after the Pelicans won all six ATS. They have won three in a row after defeating the Charlotte Hornets 112-107 and will want to end their three-game road trip on a positive note. Their success will begin with the NBA’s 12th-best defensive rating, per NBA.com. On the other hand, the Pelicans are 15th in offensive rating. Friday’s match was disappointing compared to the 121 points they scored against the Minnesota Timberwolves (the league’s top defense) and 142 against the Wizards. New Orleans which averages the fifth-most free throw attempts per game, will want to get 120 points again in San Antonio. MatchPlug Prediction For San Antonio Spurs VS New Orleans Pelicans  San Antonio’s single edge in this game will end at the rim offensively. Other than that, New Orleans would have beaten them in every other way. Fans can expect the Pelicans to defeat the Spurs by double-digits again, even in Texas. Final Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans Spread.

Betting On The Ohio Bobcats 1XBet Spread: +1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Over 48.5 1XBet Moneyline: 2.184 BetMGM Spread: +3 BetMGM Over/Under: Under 48.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 2.20 The Ohio Bobcats will be destroyed due to an offense suffering from players who backed out of this bowl game, and a defense missing a top player. The Bobcats delivered an average of 22.9 points per match and gained an average of 346.8 yards per match, but those stats are irrelevant given that many players left the offence.  Ohio’s defense permits an average of 15.4 points which was the fifth best in the country and 263.9 yards per game, which was fourth best. The Bobcats ranked 9th best against the rush permitting 95.5 yards per game and 7th best against the pass, allowing 168.4 yards per game through the air. Betting On The Georgia Southern Eagles 1XBet Spread: -1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Under 48.5 1XBet Moneyline: 1.734 BetMGM Spread: -3 BetMGM Over/Under: Over 48.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 1.69 The Georgia Southern Eagles averaged 30.9 points and 422.3 yards per game this season which were 47th and 41st respectively. The Eagles permitted an average of 155.7 yards rushing which was 78th and 244.1 yards passing per game, which was 104th. MatchPlug Prediction For Ohio VS Georgia Southern  Georgia Southern’s defence is weak, but it will face an Ohio defence that will get many three-and-outs on Saturday. Ohio’s defence will spend most of the match on the field, weakening the Bobcats over time and giving the Eagles a chance to swoop in for the kill. Final Prediction: Georgia Southern Eagles Moneyline.

Time: 22:30 Teams to play: Colts and Steelers. NFL Expert Picks: SPREAD -1.5. Odds provided by 1XBet and BetMGM. Betting On The Indianapolis Colts 1XBet Spread: -1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Over 42.5 1XBet Moneyline: 1.91 BetMGM Spread: -1.5 BetMGM Over/Under: Under 42.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 1.80 The Indianapolis Colts are on a four-game winning streak, and they were less than a field goal favourite in the whole four victories. The streak ended last week against Cincinnati when the Bengals won the clash of backup quarterbacks by 20 points. Michael Pittman Jr. had a solid match against Cincinnati with 95 receiving yards, but could not find the endzone. Indianapolis ranks 8th in the NFL in scoring with 24.2 points per game, but their defense ranks 29th by permitting 25.4 points per game. Linebacker Zaire Franklin leads the NFL in tackles with 144 on the season, followed by safety Julian Blackmon with only 85. Betting On The Pittsburgh Steelers 1XBet Spread: +1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Under 42.5 1XBet Moneyline: 1.91 BetMGM Spread: +1.5 BetMGM Over/Under: Over 42.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 2.05 The Pittsburgh Steelers are shockingly still in the playoff race, they are presently 6-seed in the AFC but are recovering from two bad defeats. The Steelers would be in a better position if they had won the matches they were supposed to win, losing as favourites in the last two weeks against the Cardinals and Patriots. Pittsburgh ranks 27th in the NFL, scoring 16.2 points per match, but performs better on the defensive end where they rank 7th by permitting only 19.2 points per. Linebacker Elandon Roberts leads the Steelers in tackles with 86, while fellow linebacker TJ Watt is second in the league with 14 sacks. MatchPlug Prediction For Indianapolis Colts VS Pittsburgh Steelers  The Indianapolis Colts rank 8th in scoring and can generate greater offence with their lineup shortcomings. The aura around the Pittsburgh Steelers is not good, with receivers becoming noticeably frustrated and showing a lack of effort when they don’t get the ball. Indianapolis has less drama, a stronger offence, and an offensive coach, they will win this game. Final Prediction: Indianapolis Colts spread.

sharks' couture improving from injury feared career end

Sharks’ Couture improving from injury, scared career was over

San Jose Shark’s Logan Couture feared that his NHL career was over earlier in the season. “I can honestly say two months ago, I would wake up and didn’t know if I was ever going to play in the NHL again,” the San Jose Sharks captain said. “It’s something that I thought of many, many days.” The center spoke with the press Tuesday for the first time since before training camp. He has not played this season due to a lower-body injury. “That was the toughest part, the unknown, Couture said. “… Waking up one day and feeling good, then waking up the next day and feeling really [lousy], just not knowing. There was no light at the end of the tunnel.” Couture has been rehabilitating the injury but had setbacks, which caused him to question his future. It is not the first time Couture has been absent during his 14-season career with San Jose. During the 2019-20 season, he was slowed down by a broken ankle. Five seasons earlier, he broke his fibula. Couture missed 30 matches in each of those seasons. This time, there is no set time for when he will return, according to the Sharks. Logan is skating on his own but has not rejoined them. Couture reports that he is finally starting to feel confident about playing this season.  “Finally, knock on wood, everything continues to go well and I’m over that hump and things can continue to trend to me getting back to practicing with the guys,” Couture said. Logan was terribly missed at the beginning of the season, when the Sharks lost their first 11 fixtures (0-10-1 record), tied for the slowest start by any team in NHL history. San Jose was not scoring and could not keep the puck of its net, and for a while it looked like it might be in competition for the worst season in franchise history. “Seeing the guys after some of those games, they wore it, and there’s not much you can do from the sidelines,” Couture said. “You can only play cheerleader so much and add your two cents to certain plays, but I wasn’t on the ice. “When I’m playing and someone’s telling me what I should be doing differently, it goes in one ear sometimes and out the other.” But since they conceded 10 goals in consecutive matches against the Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 2 and 4, leading to a meeting with general manager Mike Grier, the Sharks have turned their season around. From the beginning of December through matches Monday, no NHL team had scored more goals per game than San Jose (5.20). Its top two centers have played a significant role; Mikael Granlund has 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in his past eight games, and Tomas Hertl has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in his past eight. The Sharks just concluded a 3-2-1 road trip that featured dramatic comeback victories against the New York Islanders and Detroit Red Wings, and a near come-from-behind win over the Vegas Golden Knights. They lost 5-4 in a clash with the Golden Knights on Sunday after they trailed by two goals late in the third period. “It’s so rewarding now for these guys to play the way that they are,” Couture said. “That road trip was awesome to watch … very proud of a lot of those guys, the way they’ve continued to battle through a lot of adversity, a lot of injuries. “Even that Vegas game we lost four or five guys throughout that game, and I thought we played better than Vegas did. Pretty impressive,” Couture said. Now it is only  a matter of when Couture can return. He said he is headed in the right direction. “I’m proud of the work I’ve put in to get to where I’m at, and I’ve had some great help in that medical room in there,” Couture said. “We’ve reached out to a lot of people in the Bay Area who have helped me, and I feel good right now.” More from the NHL: Fleury defies NHL policy, wears special mask for Wild’s Native American Heritage night.

lafleur packers learned a valuable lesson in defeat by giants

Matt LaFleur: Packers ‘learned a valuable lesson’ in defeat by Giants

The Green Bay Packers lead by Matt LaFleur, got a hard lesson on Monday night at MetLife Stadium, losing 24-22 to the New York Giants: never underestimate an opponent. “Obviously, extremely disappointed,” Packers head coach LaFleur said after the loss, via the official transcript. “I think our team learned a valuable lesson in terms of if you don’t play your best, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing, where you’re playing them, when you’re playing, you’re not going to win the game. We lost the turnover battle and weren’t good enough in situational ball, third-down red zone. We had plenty of opportunities. Give New York credit, they went out there, and they played better than we did tonight. This game is about execution, and we didn’t execute to the best of our ability.” The Giants entered the match 4-8 with little to play for. LaFleur’s team was 6-6, on a three-game win streak, including wins over Detroit and Kansas City with the postseason in sight. It seemed like a youth-filled Packers had been reading the press-clipping on time, expecting an easy win. Jordan Love missed a host of throws and turned the ball over on back-to-back possessions, his first game with two-plus giveaways since Week 10. The offense delayed repeatedly in the red zone. The defense could not pressure the QB and allowed New York run through it late. And Keisean Nixon muffed a punt on time in the third quarter that flipped the script in New York’s favor. “You can look and nitpick each phase of the game,” LaFleur said. “Special teams wasn’t good enough. Offense wasn’t good enough. Defense wasn’t good enough. All three collectively, and when you’re bad in all three phases, that’s what happens. You lose the game.” If Giants undrafted sensation Tommy DeVito proved anything, it is that an underestimated NFL team, will burn its opponents. After more than a month of excellent, upward-trajectory performance, Love struggled, reverting to early season issues that saddled an ineffective offense and could not find the range deep. “Not good enough,” Love said of his play. “Obviously, not good enough to get the job done there at the end. Obviously two costly turnovers hurt us a lot. Just not good enough.” Despite getting outplayed, the Packers took a late lead following a Saquon Barkley fumble that Love turned into a TD to Malik Heath. But a defense that surprisingly could not pressure the QB gave up the game-winning field goal drive. The Packers missed a chance to put a game’s distance between themselves and the rest of the NFC wild-card competitiors. LaFleur’s club stayed in the No. 7 slot ahead of L.A. Seattle, Atlanta, and New Orleans, but their margin for error was scraped with a battle against the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers on tap this Sunday. “We better have a short memory,” LaFleur said after the game. “You’ve got to learn from it and move on. We’re on a short week now against a team in Tampa that is fighting for their playoff lives and the leaders of their division. So, we’re going to have to play a lot better than we did tonight in order to come out on top.” Related NFL News: Titans QB Will Levis heads improbable 14-point comeback against Dolphins despite early miscues.
