Manchester City defender, Nicholas Otamendi has signed a new two years deal at the Etihad.

The Argentine has been in inspired form this season, helping the Cityzens maintain an unbeaten start to the league season after 19 games.

Otamendi has featured in 18 of those matches, netting the winner against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The 29 years old has netted 5 times in all competitions this season.

Otamendi is the most reliable City defender this season, with Kompany and John Stones all getting injured and missing in action at some point in the season.

The Argentine reportedly had a deal until 2020, but Goal via Sun Sport is revealing that City have offered him a new two years extension.

He would be the latest of City’s players to sign new deals, with Gabriel Jesus in line for a new five years contract, while Fernandinho is reportedly close to signing a one year extension, and Kevin de Bruyne is also discussing a new 6 years deal worth more that £60 million.

Pep Guardiola is also reportedly interested in extending his stay with the Premier League champions despite failing to agree new deals at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
