Premier League champions Manchester City have reportedly reached a personal agreement to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to sign a defender this summer and have approached the Croatia defender, who is keen to move to the Etihad. According to a report in GOAL, City and the defender have reached an agreement over the transfer.

For the deal to be 100% confirmed, Leipzig and City must agree on the transfer fee.

And according to Sky Sports journalist Philipp Hinze, City have already submitted a new £77m (€90m/$114m)  plus add-ons bid for Gvardiol.

City boss Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of Gvardiol and sees him as a perfect replacement for Aymeric Laporta, who is likely to be sold this summer.

City are looking to strengthen their squad after winning a historic treble. They could lose several players like Laporta, Ilkay Gundoga, Jaoa Ccancelo, Bernardo Silva, and Kyle Walker this summer.

Meanwhile, they have also reached an agreement with Chelsea over the signing of Gvardiol’s national team teammate Mateo Kovacic, with the Craotian expected to undergo a medical and sign for City this week.
