This would be one of the most interesting matches this weekend as both of these sides have always played out thrilling contests. There is also a lot at stake at the moment for both teams with Chelsea looking to end inside the top four while Everton would be looking to end campaign inside a Europa League place at least. Everton have had a terrible time in most games this season with their defensive issues continuing to affect their overall performances. They took a 2-0 lead in their last league game against Newcastle but they still ended up losing the game 3-2. This sort of defensive collapse has been rampant this season and would definitely be punished if they are allowed to show up here. Chelsea are looking to return to the Premier League top four  but a win here would only be enough if it has enough goal difference and if Arsenal loses. The Blues played and won well in the Europa League in midweek and their fans would be hoping that they can star here again.

Liverpool would be looking to return to the top of the Premier League table and hopefully stay there until the end of the season when they take on struggling Fulham in this game. The host have had a dreadful season and with just about 8 games to go they look set for an immediate return to the English championship. Liverpool took Bayern Munich apart in midweek after crushing the Germans 3-1 away from home despite ending the first leg goalless at Anfield. The Red’s performance in that game shows why every team wants to avoid them in the Champions League next round. They would find it not so difficult to win this game and we believe it is only a matter of how many goals the Cottagers can stop them from scoring. Liverpool would top the league by 2 points if they win here and Manchester City would still have to play Manchester United and Tottenham, so the Reds’ fans can be optimistic that this game would end in a certain win for their team.

Manchester City have the chance to go top of the Premier League just two weeks after they could have been seven points off the top of the Premier League table. The Cityzens slipped up at Newcastle some two matchdays back and that gave Liverpool the chance to open a seven points gap on City, however, the Reds have drawn their last two games to reduce the points gap to just 3 points ahead of this round of games. Everton who are also archrivals to Liverpool would be tasked with doing Liverpool a favour yet again and cause Manchester City to drop points, however, the Toffees are not in their best form heading into this game. Everton have won just four of their last 14 games in all competitions and they have lost 8 of those games. Their head to head against Manchester City is also not impressive as they have won just one of their last 12 league meetings with the Premier League defending champions.

This is one of the most competitive title races in Scotland in recent history and Celtic would feel they have their work cut out as they bid to win a third consecutive league title under Brendan Rodgers. They are currently 3 points ahead of Rangers who are their main title rivals this season as Steven Gerard looks to topple his former manager. The Bhoys lost their last game of last year before going on a warm weather training camp. They have returned more refreshed and head into this game having won all of their last three games in all competitions, we expect this game to be a similar outcome for them. St Johnstone have been in and out of the Scottish top flight for a while now but they seem to have stabilized and would be looking to finish inside the top six this season. The visitors come into this game in the sixth position. That position was helped by a run of 4 straight wins, they would be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a 2-0 loss to Hearts the last time out.

Chelsea have recovered well from back to back losses to Arsenal and Tottenham to win their last two games and their fans would be expecting them to continue their fine run of form against Bournemouth in this game. The Blues have reached the Carabao Cup final after overturning a first leg 1-0 loss to Tottenham and reached the next round of the FA Cup after beating Shefield Wednesday at the weekend. They are currently well on course to finish inside the top four while they are still competing for the FA Cup and the Europa League, so it looks like this season could end with yet another silverware for the Blues. Bournemouth would also be happy coming into this game after they secured a much needed 2-0 win over West Ham United the last time out. Prior to that win, they were on a run of 4 losses in 5 games and they would be hoping to build a winning run with another victory here.

Liverpool were the most decorated club in England for a long period of time, but since the re-branding of the English top flight game and renaming it the Premier League, the Reds have yet to win the competition. In the last decade, they have come close to winning it twice but failed to do so, they are currently top of the Premier League table again here and having lost just a single game in the league season, this could be the year they ended their wait. They come into this game after back to back wins over Brighton and Crystal Palace and their players would be confident of clinching yet another win here. Leicester City have recorded some upsetting wins in the Premier League in the last two months after beating Chelsea and Leicester City. However, the pressure has returned for Claude Puel as his team come here having lost 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions. They have been a bogey team to Liverpool for some time now but the Reds have won the last three meetings between them.

Arsenal come into this game looking to close the gap on the top four having fallen 6 points adrift of the 4th position. Interestingly they play Chelsea who are currently 4th, if they lose this game, they would be in for a tough time ending the season inside the top four and may even start the new week outside the top 5 should Manchester United win. The Gunners have played well when they play at home recently with their last two games there ending in wins over Burnley and Fulham. They scored 7 goals in those games and conceded just 2 times, Unai Emery would be hoping for more of the same but Chelsea are of a different quality to the above opponents. Chelsea started the reign of Maurizio Sarri Brightly, but the Blues have since gone through a rough patch. they have struggled for goals recently as they haven’t scored more than 2 goals in over 10 game. They beat Newcastle 2-1 at home in their last league game, but it was obvious that they are struggling to get goals and Arsenal should take advantage of that here.

Crystal Palace’s win over Manchester City last month helped Liverpool move 7 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, the Eagles have gone on to win their next away game and it would be a shocker if they earn yet another win here. They have been impressive when they visit Anfield in the past as they had a three games winning streak there until last season. Liverpool have made Anfield an absolute fortress these days as only Manchester City have stopped them from scoring there this season. They have scored 27 goals and conceded just 3 times there also this season and it is hard not to see a win for the Premier League leaders on current form. Liverpool overcame a very difficult Brighton side 1-0 last weekend to help them recover from a two games losing streak which included an FA Cup exit at hands of Wolves. The Reds have won all of their last 3 games against the Eagles.

This may be start of the year and the second half of the league season, however, this game could potentially have the biggest impact on the Premier League title race. Manchester City were expected to run away with the Premier League title again this seasons but the Cityzens have seen how difficult a task it is to retain the Premier League crown and they come into this game 7 points off Liverpool. A win for Manchester City would end Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the season and also close the points gap to 4 points. Although Liverpool would still lead the Premier League table they would have halted the Reds’ momentum. A defeat for the hosts would mean that Liverpool now has a 10 points gap on them at the top of the Premier League table. Manchester City come into this game with 3 losses from their last 5 league games including a home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace. Liverpool have dropped just six points in the Premier League this season and they come into this game on the back of 9 consecutive league wins including a 5-1 demolishing against Arsenal in their last league game. The Reds have however, dropped points against the top six having failed to win at Chelsea and Arsenal, they would be keen on winning here to keep their momentum going.

Southampton survived relegation from the Premier League by some stroke of luck last season and they were expected to be even more competitive this time around, but they started very poorly and that cost Mark Hughes his job. The Saints have named Austrian Ralph Hassenhuttl as their manager and the former RB Leipzig boss has begun his reign in an outstanding fashion. They became the first team to beat Arsenal in 23 games and also defeated Huddersfield Town 3-1 in their very next game. However, they were beaten 2-1 at home by West Ham in their last league game and they need to perform another giant killing act here to get a good result. Manchester City were expected to run away with the Premier League title this season after they totaled 100 points to claim the crown the last time out. However, the Cityzens have encountered a rough patch recently and come into this game 7 points off the top as well as well as on a run of two straight losses. They would be looking to get back to their early season form that saw them go 15 matches unbeaten. They have won all their 4 games against Southampton under Pep Guardiola.
