Four burglars attacked Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier early Tuesday, threatening him and his wife, police and prosecutors announce.
They hit the wife of Letellier, who is a substitute goalkeeper at PSG in the face and demanded jewellery and money while threatening the couple with a knife, according to a police source.
Alexandre’s two young children were at home during the robbery.
The alarm in Letellier’s residence situated in Hardicourt, west of Paris, went off at 2:00 am (0100 GMT) and the couple tried contacting the police by telephone.
“The alarm worked perfectly well and police intervened quickly as did the club’s security service,” a source close to the case said.
According to prosecutors, three of the four burglars were arrested. Two of the members are minors.
Famous footballers have been robbed by burglars several times in recent years. In July, PSG goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma suffered a slight injury during a burglary, with stolen goods estimated at 500,000 euros ($550,000).
