Manchester City vs Real Madrid: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Manchester City and Real Madrid will renew their UEFA Champions League rivalry this Wednesday when both sides meet at the Etihad for the second leg of their semi-final tie. The Cityzens went to Madrid in the first leg and snatched a decent draw, with a thunderbolt from Kevin De Bruyne cancelling Vinicius Junior’s equally great strike. So this tie is finely poised ahead of this second leg at the Etihad, which City will feel confident of winning, given their recent record at the Etihad.  Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last 14 games at home in all competitions. Added to that is an unbeaten UCL run at the Etihad Stadium that stretches back to September 2018 (W22, D2).  Read more: Inter Milan vs AC Milan: Preview and Expert Football Prediction  Overall they are unbeaten in 22 competitive games (W18, D4), with a 3-0 win over Everton the most recent in that sequence. That win kept their match towards the Premier League title alive, as they require just one more win to secure it. However, it is this competition that they crave the most, and Guardiola will be desperate to do all it takes here to overcome Madrid and book a place in Istanbul, where they will face either AC Milan or Inter Milan. But Madrid are no easy opponent and will come into this tie in a confident mood after resting many of their players at the weekend. Los Blancos are looking to book a place in their final for the second year in a row, while manager Carlo Ancelotti is aiming for five consecutive UCL wins over British opposition on foreign soil. However, that run only started after they lost 4-3 here last season, so the Italian knows how difficult it is to play City away with Madrid winless in four away trips to the Etihad (D2, L2). Click here to get accurate soccer predictions.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

The Champions League return this Tuesday with Inter Milan and AC Milan facing each other for the second time in a week when they meet at San Siro in the second leg of their UCL semi-final tie. Inter come into this tie in serious form, having won each of their last seven games in all competitions. The most recent in that sequence was a 4-2 win over Sassuolo at the weekend. That result kept them on course to finish in the Serie A top four, as they ended the round sitting in third position, five points ahead of fifth-placed AC Milan.  Read more: Real Betis vs Rayo Vallecano: Preview and Expert Football Prediction They will not turn their attention to the Champions League, where they will look to secure their first European final since 2010. Inter put one foot in the final thanks to a 2-0 win in the first leg of this tie, with goals from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan giving Simone Inzaghi’s men a commanding first-leg lead. They only need to secure a place in Istanbul to avoid defeat here. They will fancy their chances here because they have kept four clean sheets from their five 2022/23 UCL knockout games.  Meanwhile, having been humbled in the first leg of this semi-final, things went from bad to worse for AC Milan, as they were humiliated by relegation-battling Spezia in the league.  That result leaves their hopes of UCL qualification for next season through a top-four finish in Serie A in tatters. So their best chance to play in the UCL is to win this tournament in this campaign. Stefano Pioli will be hoping his side can run this around at San Siro, where they enjoyed good form in Europe this season, despite a 2-0 loss in the first leg.  However, the Rosenneri haven’t won a UCL knockout game when they are the designated away side since 2006/07 (D4, L6). And their record of just one win in their last eight away games (D4, L3) also complicates their chances here. Meanwhile, AC Milan’s last eight games in all competitions have produced exactly two total goals. So, we can expect an under 2.5 goals game here.

Real Betis vs Rayo Vallecano: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Real Betis will continue their quest for European football next season when they host Rayo Vallecano on Monday. The hosts come into this tie on the back of a 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao. That result kept them in sixth position, four points ahead of Girona in seventh. So their dream of playing in the Europa League remains intact. However, manager Manuel Pellegrini has publicly admitted he is “not confident” that his side will qualify for European football next season because of their recent form.  At one point this season, Betis looked certain to secure a UEFA Champions League spot for the first time since 2005/06, but four losses in their last seven La Liga outings (W2, D1) scuppered that dream. Read more: Leicester City Liverpool: Preview and Expert Football Prediction While that claim by Pellegrini looks like a motivational tactic, the fact that the hosts have just three wins from their last eleven home league outings (D4, L4) shows why he might be keen to incentivise his squad. Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano travel to Estadio Benito Villamarín looking to make it back-to-back league wins. They come into this tie on the back of a 2-1 home win over Real Valladolid at home. That win kept them on track to achieving their dream of qualifying for European football for only the second time in the club’s history. However, the Red Sashes are on a worryingly poor run on the road, losing four of their last six away fixtures (D2).  They don’t have happy memories in this fixture, having won only one of their last ten H2Hs (D4, L5), and that was a penalty shoot-out win in the Copa del Rey.  That said, Real Betis have lost eleven of the 13 league games in which they conceded the first goal (W2), so Vallecano will feel they have a chance after scoring first in three of their last four away games.  Click here to get accurate football predictions.

Leicester City Liverpool: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

The fight for Premier League survival continues for Leicester City this Monday when they welcome Liverpool to King Power Stadium. The Foxes come into this round of games sitting inside the relegation zone after three games without a win (D2, D1). The last in that sequence was an embarrassing 5-3 loss to Fulham in their previous outing. That game saw them concede five times (three in the first half), taking their total goals conceded for the season to 64. So ahead of this round, only four sides have conceded more goals than Dean Smith’s side, who are running out of time to secure their Premier League destiny. Read more: Real Betis vs Rayo Vallecano: Preview and Expert Football Prediction They will welcome Liverpool to the King Power Stadium, hoping for a good result. But having not kept a clean sheet in their last 20 PL outings (W3, D4, L13) despite scoring in ten of those 17 winless matches, they seem unlikely to get a result here. However, the away form of Liverpool could also serve as an encouragement for the Foxes. The Reds have secured more than double the number of points at home (43) compared to their away haul (19).  Yet, they are a team in form, having won their last six Premier League games to push themselves into fifth position ahead of this round of matches. But each of the last five wins have come by one-goal margins, as in the reverse fixture when Jurgen Klopp’s side won 2-1. Moreover, the visitors have kept two clean sheets in their last two games. So we can expect a cagey affair with few goals. Therefore, an under 2.5 goals game is highly likely. Click here to get 100 percent winning tips.

Bologna vs AS Roma: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

After their Europa League exertions in midweek, AS Roma turn their attention to their top-four quest in the Serie A this Sunday when they travel to Stadio Renato Dall’Ara to face Bologna. The hosts have enjoyed a relatively solid campaign and are now looking to secure just a second top-half finish in Serie A since returning to the top flight in 2015.  Two points separate the team in eighth position and 13th ahead of the round. However, Thiago Motta’s men only have themselves to blame for being part of that crowd after a five-match winless run (D3, L2). But the Rossoblù are at least unbeaten in five matches at home (W2, D3). Their positive home record this term has been built on a strong defence that has conceded just 12 goals at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, a record only Inter can beat.  Read more: Espanyol vs Barcelona: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Meanwhile, AS Roma comes into this tie on the back of a massive 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League. The win means that they have one leg planted in the competition’s final. Should they succeed in defending that one-goal deficit at BayArena this Thursday, they will be playing their second European final in two seasons under Jose Mourinho. That will be some achievement for ‘the Special One’, whose European pedigree is enjoying new PR for his work at Stadio Olimpico. However, in the league, the Portuguese manager is struggling to guide Roma to a top-four finish, with his side sitting outside the top-six ahead of this round. Their poor league placement has been caused by a four-game winless run in the league (D2, L2). Mourinho’s men will be desperate to avoid a fifth game without a win but must improve on the road to avoid that. In addition, the Giallorossi have won just one of their last ten away matches in all competitions (D3, L6), whilst they’ve also conceded 21 of their 33 Serie A goals away from the Stadio Olimpico. Arsenal vs Brighton: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

The title race continues this Sunday with second-placed Arsenal taking in overachievers Brighton at the Etihad Stadium. The Gunners kept their hopes of a title win alive with a gusty 2-0 win over top-four hopefuls Newcastle United away from home. The win was their second in a row and saw them pass what appeared to be their last test against top opposition. However, Brighton doesn’t come easy these days, as the Seagulls have morphed into a solid opposition under Roberto De Zerbi. They are currently chasing a role six finish and come into this tie with the chance of achieving that goal still intact despite a shocking 5-1 loss against Everton on Monday night. Read more: Everton vs Manchester City: Preview and Expert Football Prediction De Zerbi has vowed that his side will learn from that defeat and bounce back here. The Seagulls should pose a threat here, having scored in each of their last 11 PL road fixtures (W5, D3, L3). However, their mixed league record in the capital this term is worth noting (W2, D1, L3). But it is also worth noting that Brighton have won their last two H2Hs here, so the Gunners should expect another challenge as they aim to extend their six-game unbeaten PL run at the Emirates (W5, D1).  Meanwhile, Arteta’s side have scored at least three goals in their last six PL games at the Emirates, but they’ve never managed that against Brighton in the PL here (W2, D1, L2). So an over 1.5 goals game is definite.

Espanyol vs Barcelona: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Barcelona and Espanyol will renew their rivalry this Sunday when both sides meet at RCDE Stadium. Espanyol come into this fixture in desperate need of maximum points that will push them further away from the relegation zone. They sit three points ahead of the relegation zone and should be highly motivated to win here. The ignominy of rivals Barcelona being ahead by 51 points, the biggest gap in a Derbi Barceloní in the 21st century, should also trigger Luis García Fernández’s side. Read more: Bologna vs AS Roma: Preview and Expert Football Prediction But beating Barcelona hasn’t been something the White and Blues have been used to, as they are winless across 25 top-flight derbies (D7, L18), which is their worst such record against any opponent. Meanwhile, Barcelona could seal the La Liga title win at Cornella de Llobregat if they win here and Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid drop points in their respective fixtures. Yet, even though the Madrid clubs don’t drop points, Xavi’s men will be happy to take all three points and make it three wins in three league games after back-to-back wins over Real Betis (4-0) and Osasuna (1-0). The 1-0 win over Osasuna on Tuesday was Barca’s eleventh victory by that scoreline this season, equalling the record for a full top-flight campaign. Those results also played their part in Barcelona collecting a 25th La Liga clean sheet this season, the joint-most for any team in the top-five European leagues this century.  The fact that they can push their derby neighbours closer to the drop could be extra motivation to produce another defensive masterclass, although Barça have kept just one clean sheet across their last four league trips to this venue. Everton vs Manchester City: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Everton will continue their quest for Premier League survival this Sunday when they welcome title-chasing Manchester City to Goodison Park. The hosts took a giant step toward beating relegation last Monday night with a dramatic 5-1 win over high-flying Brighton away from home. That win ended a run of 15 consecutive away games without a win for The Toffees and was also the first time Sean Dyche’s men scored five times away from home since Boxing Day 2018. Dyche will be hoping that his side’s display at the Amex is a sign of his side’s resurging, especially in attack, where they had held the record of fewest goals scored before that win.  Read more: Arsenal vs Brighton: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Goals have been tough to come at home this season for the Merseysiders, as they have scored more than once in just one PL home game. Having climbed out of relegation last Monday with two points ahead of the bottom three, they will believe more than ever that they can beat the drop. However, the visit from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is often a tough task for the Toffees, whose last win in this fixture was a memorable 4-0 win in 2017. City have dominated this fixture since that result, winning ten of the last 12 competitive meetings.  The visitors also come into this tie on a run of ten straight league wins, a feat they have now achieved on five occasions under Guardiola. No other manager can match that many 10+ winning streaks in Premier League history. Their 1-1 draw in Real Madrid on Tuesday means they are unbeaten in 20 competitive games, too, making them the clear favourites for a win here. Yet, their Champions League semi-final tie with Madrid on Wednesday could distract them here, as Pep Guardiola is expected to rotate his squad.Click here to get direct win predictions.

Bayern Munich vs Schalke: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

Bayern Munich will continue their quest for the Bundesliga title this Saturday when they welcome a Schalke side fighting for their lives.   The hosts kept their slender one-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table thanks to a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen last time.  With just three rounds of league action remaining, this is the tightest title race at this stage of the season since Bayern Munich were level on points with Wolfsburg back in 2008/09 before ultimately failing to lift the title. But they will hope to hang on for a record-extending 11th-straight Bundesliga crown this time. But nothing is guaranteed yet despite the odds being in their favour. But they can at least be expected to win here, given their strong record across their last 21 league games against promoted sides (W17, D3, L1). Read more: Real Madrid vs Getafe: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Yet, since Die Roten have shown vulnerability in their home games against sides ranked 14th or lower, dropping vital points in two of them (W2, D2), Schalke will be confident of leaving Allianz Arena with something. The Royal Blues have enjoyed a massive resurgence under Thomas Reis, with three victories across the past four rounds pushing them out of the bottom three places. Reis was in charge of Bochum when they beat Bayern last season, so he will be looking to cause another colossal upset and end his side’s five-game losing streak at the Allianz Arena.    Click here to get today’s football tips.

Real Madrid vs Getafe: Preview and Expert Football Prediction

After their weekend exertions in the Champions League, Real Madrid will return to La Liga action this Saturday when they host Getafe.  The hosts have not played in the league since their 2-1 loss to Real Sociedad early this month. Since then, they have beaten Osasuna 2-1 to win the Copa Del Rey before holding Manchester City 1-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League semi-final.  Two league losses from their last three games mean they come into this round of games sitting in third place, one point behind city rivals Atletico Madrid, who have shot themselves to the second spot with impressive results.  Read more: Bayern Munich vs Schalke: Preview and Expert Football Prediction Getafe have beaten Madrid only once across the last 18 H2Hs (W15, D2) and might struggle again here, given that their hosts have lost just once in 20 La Liga home fixtures (W14, D5). The visitors were winless in April (D2, L4) but moved to 18th position with a crucial 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo, which boosted their survival hopes.  They will enter this game (which is their third last La Liga away game of the season), having not won on the road since October (D3, L7) whilst failing to score in three of the last four (D1, L3). The visitors also haven’t won an away head-to-head meeting with Carlo Ancelotti’s side since February 2008 (L13), losing the last four of them ‘to nil’, including three with a 2-0 scoreline.
