Monaco players on Man Utd radar

Manchester United are contemplating whether to pursue Monaco pair Vanderson and Youssof Fofana. The Red Devils have concerns in more than one area of their team so far this season.  According to Per Give Me Sport, Vanderson and Fofana are two players that United boss Erik ten Hag admires.  Vanderson is a right-back who would replace either Diogo Dalot or Aaron Wan-Bissaka at United.  Fofana is a defensive midfielder who could replace Casemiro in the Red Devils’ squad. Martinez seeks to end Mbappe row: ‘He’s the best I’ve faced’

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez is seeking to end any quarrel with PSG star Kylian Mbappe. He paid tribute to Kylian after winning the Yashin Trophy as the Ballon d’Or’s Goalkeeper of the Year. Martinez wants to end tensions regarding his World Cup celebrations earlier this year. While speaking to France Football, he said: “If Kylian made me suffer? Yes, it is not for nothing that he is considered one of the best players in the world. I have a lot of respect for him, as a player and as a person. “Obviously, there are images that have been taken and something, which has nothing to do with my personality, has been created. Kylian is an example to follow. This guy is great and already has a World Cup with France, in addition to giving me a hat-trick in the final. “I think he can be proud and that the French too. If he’s the best attacker I’ve faced? Yes clearly. When Messi and Ronaldo stop, I think he will take over and win lots of Ballons d’Or.” More Ligue 1 News: PSG defeat Milan to get back on track in Champions League.

PSG defeat Milan to get back on track in Champions League

Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani, and Lee Kang-in were all on target as PSG got back to winning in the Champions League with an excellent 3-0 win against AC Milan on Wednesday. Paris-Saint Germain were eager to break the spell of their 4-1 defeat on the road to Newcastle United three weeks ago and they brought too much attacking for Milan at the Parc des Princes. Mbappe opened the scoring lines with a deadly finish just after the half-hour mark for his 10th club goal this season, and Kolo Muani delivered another shortly after half-time. Lee Kang-in then came off the bench to score the third goal later on, which was his first for PSG. PSG made a massive comeback this season, showing a different side of themselves from the disorganized team that was saddled with forwards and overrun in midfield in the defeat by Newcastle. Starting their European campaign with a 2-0 home win against Borussia Dortmund, Paris-Saint Germain tops Group F at the halfway stage with six points ahead of a trip to Milan early next month.  AC Milan the seventh-time European champions are bottom of the group with two points and a huge concern for Stefano Pioli’s team will be that they need to score a goal in the competition this season.  This match witnessed French international brothers Lucas Hernandez, the PSG defender, and Theo, the Milan captain, face off against each other for the first time. It also saw PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his Milan counterpart Mike Maignan come up against the clubs where they started their careers. However, the stars of this show were somewhere else, with Kylian Mbappe who was hugged by a pitch invader in the first half looking debatedly sharper than he has ever done at any point up to now this season for PSG. We are the Winning Prediction Site to rely on for Ligue 1 matchday previews.  Predictions and Betting Preview For Lille VS Brest 2023 Ligue 1 Venue: Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Villeneuve-d’Ascq, France. When: Sunday, October 22nd, 2023. Time: 14:00. Teams to play: Lille and Brest. Expert Picks: MONEYLINE 1.821. Odds provided by 1XBet and BetMGM. Betting On Lille 1XBet Spread: -1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Over 2.5 1XBet Moneyline: 1.821 BetMGM Spread: _ BetMGM Over/Under: Over 2.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 1.78 Lille have lost once in eight matches, taking a 2-1 defeat to Reims on September 25. They have not lost in their last three but got a draw in their last two, including a goalless stalemate with Faroe Island KI in the UEFA Conference League. Recent scores between both sides have been mixed, with Lille emerging victorious in one of six meetings and their opponent two. But, Brest has not won at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in their last five competitive games. Betting On Brest 1XBet Spread: +1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Under 2.5 1XBet Moneyline: 4.78 BetMGM Spread: _ BetMGM Over/Under: Under 2.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 4.60 Brest has lost once this season, taking a 2-0 defeat to Marseille on August 26. Since then, they have gone five outings undefeated and also topped the table in September. Despite their present strong run, Brest has not been a free-scoring team. With only nine goals, only five Ligue 1 sides have scored less, with two of them now in the relegation zone. Brest’s strength has been their defence. They have given up seven goals, with just undefeated Nice conceding fewer. However, they have only maintained three clean sheets in eight games. MatchPlug Prediction For Lille VS Brest  With both clubs being in good shape, this match is a tough one to call. But one thing is clear and that is the fact that the match will be a low-scoring one due to Brest’s lack of goals and strong defence. Overall, Lille will have a slight advantage, as they’re the better team on paper and will enjoy home advantage. But, since they are not free-scoring in their own right, they may struggle to break down Brest. Final Prediction: Lille Moneyline.

Desailly ‘amazed’ by Newcastle after PSG victory

PSG’s Marcel Desailly has heaped praises on Newcastle United. The legendary French World Cup winning centre back was very impressed with Newcastle after they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 in the Champions League group stages. Playing against a “group of death” in the competition, Newcastle has proven that it can compete against the biggest teams in Europe. “Everybody will laugh at me if I say Tottenham will make the top four, so I’ll put them aside,” Desailly told Gambling Zone on the Premier League top four. “I’ll say the same names most are saying. “I think Liverpool will be up there, but the inconsistency of Man United will cost them. There’s just too much pain there when it comes to the administration level and the players. “The management of Erik ten Hag is also too strong for the players they have. He doesn’t have the players in his hands – you can tell. “You can feel that very strongly. That’s why I believe the best management we have today is at Arsenal. Arteta had a very bad season two years ago and almost got sacked a couple of times. “However, he managed to build up a really nice philosophy and built belief with both the owners and the players. Arteta got the player he wanted this summer and he almost made it last year – but the talent of City was just too strong. “He’s rebuilt the belief this season, and you could see that in the last twenty minutes of the game against City yesterday. Arsenal were unbelievable! “They had all the possession and City weren’t able to lift their level and match Arsenal’s intensity. I’ll mention Arsenal, City, and Liverpool. All of those teams operate like diesel – slow, steady power.” When speaking on Newcastle United, Desailly added: “I have no idea who else will finish in the top-four, but I’m waiting for a surprise. Newcastle were magnificent against PSG, but if you look at the match deeply, you realize that PSG allowed them to express themselves on the highest possible level. “Luis Enrique made the mistake of going to St James’ Park with four offensive players, none of whom understood the intensity Newcastle planned. “Howe is a typical English coach with a strong fighting spirit. Nobody was expecting Newcastle to play like that. However, it’s a 38-game season, and I’m not sure how Newcastle can maintain that whilst balancing Premier League and Champions League games. “They haven’t been in the Champions League for two decades, and suddenly they’re here! I’m not sure about Newcastle, but I was so happy to see them play like they did against PSG. “That wasn’t supposed to happen, as quality players can play through high presses and opposition teams can’t sustain ninety minutes of pressuring defenses. Despite the result, Newcastle had 29% of the ball. It was an amazing result.” Related Ligue 1 News: PSG bounce back from Newcastle disgrace with Rennes win.

Rennes – PSG

Rennes hosts PSG at the Roazhon Park in a match from the 8th round of the French Ligue 1. Keep up with us and our free football tips for that game.  Let’s start with the hosts. Rennes are 6th in the league with 11 points and a record of two wins and five draws. As you can see, Rennes are doing draws more often than they are winning. This is something the manager Bruno Genesio and his players will try to change, but against PSG it’s going to be difficult. Last weekend Rennes finally won again after a run of consecutive draws. Les Rennais faced Nantes at home and enjoyed a 3-1 win at the Roazhon Park. Benjamin Bourigeaud and Arnaud Kalimuendo scored from penalties while Desire Doue also put the ball in the net.  The 22-year-old Moroccan striker Ibrahim Salah is Rennes’ leading goalscorer since the beginning of the season – he has scored three times. This is a huge improvement for him as he didn’t score a single goal in the Ligue 1 during the 2022/23 campaign. PSG approach this visit to Rennes from 5th place in the standings. The truth is Luis Enrique’s team didn’t have the best start of the season. So far the champions have won just three of their seven matches played. Last weekend PSG made their third draw for the season. Enrique’s boys faced Clermont Foot away from home, but the match ended with no goals scored – 0-0.  Despite putting his stars on the pitch, Luis Enrique didn’t find the formula to win against Clermont Foot. PSG’s new attacking trio of Mbappe, Dembele and Kolo Muani still don’t work as expected. Especially in Dembele’s case, he’s heavily criticized for his lack of contribution in terms of goals and assists.  What Luis Enrique must do now is make Ousmane Dembele feel comfortable on the pitch. The French winger arrived from Barcelona, but he’s still adapting to his new life in France. At certain moments he doesn’t look confident enough maybe because his adaptation is going slower than expected. Kylian Mbappe on the other hand is doing more than well – seven games in six matches played for PSG in the Ligue 1. In the summer it was not completely clear if he’s going to remain at the club, but now the French international is doing very good. Mbappe is going to be the main threat for Rennes’ defense when these two teams meet. Nuno Mendes, Presnel Kimpembe and Marco Asensio continue to recover from their injuries. Meanwhile, Goncalo Ramos is trying his best to return in the line-up after Kolo Muani’s arrival. That’s the free football tips for the Ligue 1 clash between Rennes and PSG at the Roazhon Park. The hosts are one of the best teams in the country, but they are rarely winning since the beginning of the season. Now they have a serious task to challenge the reigning champion. Let’s see if PSG can finally show their true qualities here – it’s going to be an interesting game for sure.

psg bounce back from newcastle disgrace

PSG bounce back from Newcastle disgrace with Rennes win

Luis Enrique understood that he needed to respond after suffering a 4-1 loss to Newcastle United in the Champions League in midweek, and PSG delivered their answer last Sunday night. Paris Saint-Germain took on undefeated Rennes at Roazhon Park in Ligue 1. Vitinha stood in for Randal Kolo Muani in the line-up and got himself on the scoresheet in a 3-1 victory. The Parisians had a shaky start when Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga tested Gianluigi Donnarumma on six minutes, inducing a good save. Vitinha’s efforts were what broke the deadlock with an excellent strike from 20 yards out, curling the ball into the top corner beyond Steve Mandanda. PSG delivered an opener that subdued Rennes and Acharaf Hakimi exploited this laps four minutes later, doubling his team’s lead. Warren Zaire-Emery assisted Luca Hernandez’s goal in England on Wednesday and this time he added another inch-perfect delivery for the fullback. He did well to place his header beyond Mandanda to compound the hosting team’s woes. Amine Gouiri pulled one back for Rennes, giving them hope with a strong header, but it was shortlived as Muani entered the field and played like someone who had a point to make. Entering immediately after Rennes’ goal, Muanu scored with his first touch to tap in a cross from Ousmane Dembele, later scoring a second goal which was ruled as an offside in the build-up. This result now means that PSG can benefit from Brest’s draw with Toulouse to regain their spot in the top three of Ligue 1. With eight matches played, the current champions are two points behind AS Monaco and one behind Nice.
