Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all want to sign this young Italian star

AS Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini is set to spark a bidding war between the top three teams in the Premier League. The Italy international has been in solid form for Roma this season in the 23 games he has played for the Giallorossi. His form hasn’t gone unnoticed and several top European sides are looking to swoop on his signature this month.’ Surprisingly, he has a release clause which is just £21 million a figure that would be too easy for any Premier League team to shell out this month. Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho who are currently taking swipes at each other would take that personal battle into the transfer market as they both look to convince Pellegrini to sign for them. Pep Guardiola is also interested, and with his team 15 points ahead of their closest rival, the youngster may well choose to join them. Pellegrini started out at the Roma youth system but developed his career further at Sassuolo. He starred for the Serie A side, forcing Roma to exercise the buy-back clause of £9 million they had inserted in the deal that took to away in the first place. He has scored 2 goals in 14 Serie A games this season.

Juventus join race for the signature of Manchester United target

The race for the signature of Mesut Ozil is getting hot and there seem to be a new team being added to the list of his suitors by the day. The German has under six months left in his current Gunners’deal and the possibility of him renewing is getting slimmer as the team’s form gets worst. Manchester United were thought to be in the driving seat for his signature, however, Sun Sport is reporting that the Red Devils now face a significant threat in the form of Juventus. The Italians are looking to stock their midfield, and are close to announcing a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool’s Emre Can, but they want more Premier League midfielders. The report claims that Juve are using Ozil’s close friend Sami Khedira to convince the German to join them. Arsenal are exploring the possibility of cashing in this month, but his form has improved so well that Wenger feels he should stay and help them finish inside the top four. Jose Mourinho would also explore the possibility of signing Ozil this month, and he reportedly has about £80 million to spend. The Portuguese manager is reportedly ready to splash £35 million on the German should the Gunners put him on sale, but if that is not the case he is happy to wait and get him for free next summer.

Arsenal and Manchester City make contact with West Brom for their in demand star

Arsenal have made contact with West Bro over the potential transfer of Jonny Evans this month. The Gunners are looking for experienced defensive cover after their shocking loss to Nottingham Forest at the weekend. Wenger has reportedly made contact with the Baggies and he is prepared to pay £25 million for the centre back. However, according to Sun Sport, the Gunners face serious opposition from Manchester City who have also asked about the possibility of signing Evans this month. Pep Guardiola wants cover for the always injured Vincent Kompany and believes Evans has the experience and quality they need at the back. The former Manchester United defender favours a move to City as it would bring him closer to his family. West Brom have no interest in selling the Irish man at the moment, and their new manager Allan Pardew, has asked the club to offer him a new deal worth around £100,000 per week. However, Evans has reportedly told the Baggies he has no interest in signing a new deal at the Hawthorns. With his current deal having only 18 months left, they might be forced to consider the offers from the Premier League duo.

Manchester City manager chooses to sign Alexis Sanchez over a new defender

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has decided that his team would be better off adding Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez than signing a new defender. The Catalan boss has a limited budget this winter window and has to make a decision on which area of his team to strengthen. Manchester City are without a dependable deputy defender after John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi, as the very unreliable Eliakim Mangala remains the only other fit option for them. Thankfully, John Stones has returned from his injury and has slotted in well into the Cityzens matchday squad. However, the Premier League leaders have lost an attacker in Gabriel Jesus and it appears Guardiola would love to cover for his absence this month. According to Sun Sport, Guardiola has decided to end his search for a defender and sign Alexis Sanchez instead. With under six months left on his contract, Arsenal are reportedly set to allow Alexis Sanchez leave this month, although that remains subject to them finding a replacement. Sanchez is also keen to be reunited with Guardiola, and the Chilean has already agreed to join the Cityzens next season. But a move to the Etihad this month would be ideal for all parties as the Chilean would potentially win the Premier League while Arsenal would earn almost the same amount they signed him from Barcelona.

Manchester United target wants £400,000 per week to snub Barcelona and join them

Manchester United would have to almost double the current highest weekly wage in the Premier League if they want to sign Antoine Griezmann next summer. The Red Devils are keen to add the French man to heir team after this season, as Jose Mourinho considers making him his marquee signing ahead of the 2018/2019 season. According to Sun Sport, the Europa League holders had agreed on personal terms with Griezmann last season worth £290,000 per week. However, since that time the interest in his signature has increased with Barcelona also keen to add him to their ranks. The French man is now demanding an extra £100,000 per week to sign for Manchester United. This new demand has reportedly rattled the Reds Devils are they might abandon his pursuit entirely. But if Jose Mourinho insists on the French attacker the club’s hierarchy would have no choice than to sign him at all cost. Mourinho had reportedly wanted the deal to happen this month, but Griezmann is careful not to soil his reputation and would wait until after this season. He joined Atletico from Real Sociedad for £24 million in the summer of 2014 and has become a fan’s favorite at the Wanda Metropolitana.

Chelsea and Arsenal target told to forget about leaving this month

Chelsea and Arsenal would have to wait until next summer at least for them to sign Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian attacker has emerged as one of the most sought-after players this month, and several top sides are looking to prize him away from Leicester City. However, The Sun is reporting that the Foxes would resist all temptations to sell this month as they look to finish inside the top half of the Premier League at the very least. Chelsea want to add Mahrez to their team in preparation for the departure of Eden Hazard who would most likely ask for a move to Real Madrid after this season. Antonio Conte has added Ross Barkley to his midfield and has even sent a message to Ruben Loftus-Cheek that he has a future at Stamford Bridge. However, he sees Mahrez as a more creative player compared to the duo. Arsenal are looking at the possibility of cashing in on Alexis Sanchez this month as Manchester City prepare to tempt them again with £35 million offer. Arsene Wenger did not want to sell Sanchez last summer, but the Chilean has underperformed this season, and they seem to regret not taking the £60 million Manchester City offered them in August. Sanchez would only leave the Emirates if a suitable replacement is found, and Mahrez is one player Wenger thinks can replace him.

Riyad Mahrez will replace Philippe Coutinho today

Liverpool have wasted no time in replacing Philippe Coutinho who joined Barcelona last night. The Reds have received £105 million of the £150 million transfer fee upfront and they are looking to spend some of that on Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez. According to reports from BEIN Sport via Sun Sport, the Reds are ready to sign Mahrez for £48 million and he is set to have a medical later this afternoon. The Algerian won the Premier League with Leicester City in the 2015/2016 season, being part a lethal duo of himself and Jamie Vardy that fired the Foxes to a historic and unexpected win. He has been looking to leave the King Power Stadium since last summer, but only AS Roma who had just sold Mohammed Salah were interested in his signature. However, the Italians could not meet Leicester’s asking price of £40 million and he remained with them. He has recaptured some of his form that made him win the PFA Player of the year in 2016, as he has scored 8 times and provided 10 assists already this season. Although the Foxes would be unwilling to allow their star man leave half way through the season, it would be hard for them to turn down a big money offer for a player they signed for less than £500,000.
