Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino has begun planning for players that he hopes to add to his team next season, and the former Espanyol manager has taking his search to the La Liga. Pochettino is aware of the interest that several big teams have shown on his overperforming stars and faces a tough battle to keep most of them after this season. One player who made be playing for the Lillywhites for his final season is Mousa Dembele, the Belgian has reportedly stalled on signing a new deal. However, Spurs fans have no reason to be afraid as their gaffer has plans to replace him with Barcelona’s Euro 2016 winner, Andre Gomez. The Portuguese star has suffered from poor form this season and has only started 15 La Liga games, he has also been heavily criticized by the fans of the La Liga giants, but Poch believes he can help him revive his career. They face competition from West Ham, however, as the East Londoners see him as a good alternative to Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho whom they struggled to sign in the last transfer window.
Both of these teams have been very exciting to watch this season, with Girona showing that they would not take this their first season as their last. Betis have also been very impressive recently and they come into this game on the back of a good run of form that would most likely help them into a European place before the end of the season. The host are currently 8th on the La Liga table and they would be looking for a win here as they look to finish their very first season in a European place, a position their performances so far deserve. They lost 6-3 to Real Madrid and 5-0 to Real Sociedad the last time, but they have been very good at home with their 1.8 average points per home game only bettered by 5 other teams in the division. Betis are in really good form ahead of this game as they are now 5th after securing a run of 4 straight victories prior to this game. That position now looks good to get them Europa League football for next season, but with just five points between them and their host, they know that they would need to keep that winning run going to be assured of that position.
Wolfsburg’s 2-0 win over Freiburg the last time out helped them stop a run of eight games without a win (5 losses and 3 draws), and 3 games without a goal. They would now look to move clear of the relegation zone with another win here. However, if they lose here and Mainz wins against Freiburg, they could find themselves inside the bottom three by the start of next week. They have the joint-poorest home record in the league this season with just 13 points collected at home, same as Cologne. They have netted in 12 of their last 13 games at home and it would be interesting to see if they can score and shut out Augsburg in this game. Augsburg are also struggling and are not safe from relegation just yet. They are winless in three games and desperately needs to get some winning run together before the season comes to an end. They started very brightly against Bayern Munich the last time out, taking the lead via an own goal, but they later capitulated and ended up losing 4-1 to leave themselves just 7 points ahead of their host in this game with 5 games left.

Sporting Lisbon’s loss in the first leg of this game was followed by some theatrics after the club presidents slated the team on Facebook. 19 players reacted to the post by demanding an apology, the president reacted back by telling the 19 players that they were suspended. Well, no one was suspended and the team came together to get a 2-0 win at the weekend, they would be looking to overturn their 2-0 in the first leg here, but that would be easier said than done. They scored home and away against Juventus and Olympiacos in the Champions League group stage and they have since netted nine times in the Europa League so far. Atletico Madrid have lived up to the expectations as favourites to win the Europa League this season. They were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage after a truly poor campaign, but they have since won 5 games on the bounce in this competition, netting 15 goals in the process. Antoine Griezmann’s form has been a big reason that they are having a good season as the French man has netted 12 times in his last 9 games including against Real Madrid at the weekend and in the first leg of this match.
SS Lazio’s season is looking like it would have a perfect ending after their 2-1 win over Udinese helped them climb to third in the Italian league. Losses for Roma and Inter played to their advantage in that case, but they are also looking to win the Europa League and secure passage to the Champions League group stage. The Italians hold a 4-2 advantage from the first leg and they head to Austria in great attacking form that has seen them score 12 goals in their last 3 games. Their attack has been helped mainly by the form of Ciro Immobile who netted his 27th goal in all competitions, can Salzburg stop him from netting here? Salzburg would be worried by the attacking form of their visitors despite their loss in Rome last week being their first in Europe this season. They followed that up with another loss in the Austrian league against LASK Linz, and they face a Lazio side that has scored at least twice in their last four games away from home. This seems to be the end of the road for them especially as they have just two wins from their last six games in this competition.
What was looking like a promising season for CSKA Moscow is finally turning into a nightmare for their fans. The Russians’ time in the Europa League looks like it is just one fixture away from coming to an end as they head into this game. They lost the first leg 4-1 and they now face an uphill task of winning 3-0 at home which looks very unlikely on their current form. They lost their very next game at home to Dynamo Moscow 2-1, so they would not be in the best frame of mind ahead of this match. They can take some inspiration from AS Roma who eliminated Barcelona after the same scoreline in the first leg. Arsenal have not had the perfect season, but they look like they would be ending the season on a more positive note. Arsene Wenger would consider this season his most difficult at the helm when the Gunners were on a run of four successive defeats back in February. They even won just 4 of their opening 14 games in 2018, but they have since gone on a run of six wins in a row in all competitions. They have also impressively won 4 of their last 5 away games in all competition including a 2-0 win against Milan at the San Siro.

Chelsea are about to lose one of their promising youngsters according to Sun Sport. The Blues are known to have some of the best youngsters in world football, but they have always struggled to get their best academy products through to the first team despite giving them huge contracts at young ages. Last season, they lost Dominic Solanke to Liverpool and the England Under-20 star has justified his decision to leave the Blues by playing in more than 15 games for the Reds this season. While Chelsea would like to keep hold of the remaining youngsters, the Blues face a tough task in convincing Brazilian youngster, Kenedy to remain with them after this season. Kenedy signed from Fluminense in the summer of 2015, and many fans were hoping that he would become one of their star attackers, but he has ended up being used as a wing back or left back before being shipped out on-loan to Newcastle. He has since been used in an advanced role by Rafa Benitez and he has thrived. His performances has helped Newcastle to move from relegation struggles to the verge of finishing the season inside the top ten. PSG are looking for a replacement for Angel Di Maria, while Bayern Munich faces the prospect of losing Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery who both have their current deals expiring at the end of this season.
