David De Gea leaves Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has officially left the Old Trafford club after his contract ran out last month. The Spanish goalkeeper has been at United since 2013 and became the club’s record clean sheet holder this season. However, he now leaves the club in controversial circumstances after he was denied a contract renewal when his contract expired at the end of June. Manchester United had remained in discussions with the 32-year-old over a contract renewal up until last week. But with Erik ten Hag clearly looking for Inter Milan’s Andre Onana to become his new number one, De Gea decided it was best to seek a new club, with offers on the table from the Saudi Pro League. Manchester United prepared to offer Mason Greenwood to Atalanta on a loan 

Manchester United are reportedly looking to use Mason Greenwood as a possible makeweight in their bid to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.  The Red Devils are interested in signing a striker and have made Hojlund their primary target. However, talks have been hampered by Atalanta’s £86m valuation of the 20-year-old Denmark international. United are now looking to add a player to the deal, with Greenwood seen as the ideal option. United has suspended the Englishman for 17 months following his arrest in January 2022 on suspicion of rape and assault and did not report for pre-season training with his teammates this week. According to Sportsmail, United’s football director John Murtough has discussed the possibility of Greenwood making a temporary move to Atalanta during his negotiations with the Italian club over Hojlund. Including Greenwood as part of the deal to sign Hojlund could lower Atalanta’s asking price and resolve the complicated issue of what to do with Greenwood, who is still under contract for another two years.

Kylian Mbappe ‘would join Arsenal’ if he was to move to the Premier League

Kylian Mbappe would reportedly prefer a move to Arsenal if he were to come to the Premier League. The Frenchman’s future is under intense speculation after he announced that he will not extend his one-year contract next season. Paris Saint-Germain have offered him the option of extending his contract at Parc des Princes, or he will get sold this summer. His long-term admirers Real Madrid are reportedly looking at bringing him to the Bernabeu, but Los Blancos are unwilling to match PSG’s demands. However, he is thought to be a big admirer of Mikel Arteta and his team. However, The Independent claim there has been no contact between the two clubs and the 24-year-old is seen to be way beyond Arsenal’s transfer budget. But, the reports claim that Mbappe is a fan of how the Spaniard is developing his team and is intrigued by the idea of helping the club deliver a domestic title.  Arteta led Arsenal to second in the Premier League last season, pushing Manchester City in their bid to win the Gunners their first league title since 2004.

Manchester United make new £43m offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana

Manchester United have reportedly tabled a fresh £43m offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Red Devils are looking to sign a new goalkeeper after releasing David de Gea, whose contract expired on July 1. They have made Onana their primary target to fill that position and are discussing with Inter Milan the possibility of signing the Cameroonian. But the San Siro side deemed the offer insufficient to price their goalkeeper away from the club. But now, according to Fabrizio Romano, United have returned with an improved bid for manager Erik Ten Hag’s No.1 target. The latest approach is an initial £38.5m with just over £4m in add-ons. Inter are holding out for around £45m, and though United have not reached that mark, there is growing optimism a deal will be reached between the two clubs.  A move to Old Trafford would reunite Onana with his former Ajax manager, Ten Hag. Both men know themselves, and the Cameroonian is thought to be keen on moving to Man United. So, finalising Onana’s personal terms is not expected to be a formality.

Granit Xhaka leaves Arsenal for Bayer Leverkusen

Arsenal have confirmed the departure of Granit Xhakaz, with the midfielder joining German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee. The midfielder spent seven successful years at the Emirates after joining from Borussia Mönchengladbach in May 2016. He made 297 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring 23 goals and assisting 29 times. Xhaka, who came close to winning the Premier League title last season, won two FA Cup titles and the FA Community Shield twice during his seven seasons at the Emirates. Xhaka was rumoured to be on his way out of the club last season after falling out of favour with the fans. But he stayed back and played a huge role in the club’s exciting title challenge. But he now leaves this summer, with the club confirming that he will join Xabi Alonso’s side. Tottenham set to seal £30m deal to sign former Liverpool target Micky van de Ven 

Tottenham is reportedly finalising an agreement over the £ 30 million signing of Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven, with the Dutch international agreeing on a five-year deal. The Netherlands U21 star was rumoured to be a summer transfer target of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. However, he is also thought to be wanted by new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou for some time, and the Premier League club appear to have got a deal over the line. Sportsmail claim that Van de Ven has agreed to a five-year deal with Tottenham that will keep him at the Premier League club until 2028. AC Milan makes $24m offer for USA star Christian Pulisic

AC Milan has reportedly offered Chelsea $24million for the services of wantaway American winger Christian Pulisic. Pulisic has made it clear to Chelsea that he only wishes to join Milan, who made an opening offer of $15m plus add-ons at the weekend. French Ligue 1 side Lyon made a rival bid for the USA international, but Pulisic has told Chelsea he would not join the French side irrespective of their offer.  Sportsmail says he will only join Milan and is waiting for the club to meet Chelsea’s demands. The two clubs have worked together on several transfers over recent seasons, involving Olivier Giroud, Fikayo Tomori, Tiemoue Bakayoko and, most recently, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who joined Milan earlier in this summer transfer window.  Despite spending four years at Stamford Bridge, Pulisic has never had an extended time in the first team, mainly due to fitness issues.  He made only eight Premier League starts last season for Chelsea. However, he remains a crucial player for the USMNT, having scored 23 goals in 57 international appearances.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £60million. The England international becomes Manchester United’s first signing after they made him his primary target this summer. The Red Devils will pay £55m plus a possible £5m in add-ons for Mount, who has signed a £250,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford until 2028 with the option of another year. Bayern Munich PREPARE another bid for Harry Kane after initial £60m offer was rejected

Bayern Munich will reportedly come back with a bigger bid for Harry Kane after their first offer for the striker was rejected. The Bavarians sent in a £60m offer for the England international last week, but Spurs rejected that bid, claiming that their captain is not for sale this summer. The 29-year-old, who has just one year left on his current deal at Tottenham, wants to leave North London this summer in search of silverware. He has agreed personal terms with Bayern and is waiting for the German club to strike a deal with Tottenham and its hard-to-please chairman Daniel Levy. And now Sportsmail is reporting that Bayern will come back for another bid, and this time they will offer around £80m plus add-ons. The Bavarians believe such an offer will get Levy to talk, as he wouldn’t want to lose the striker for nothing next season. Newcastle sign Sandro Tonali from AC Milan on a five-year deal

Newcastle have completed the signing of Italy international Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.
