Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their new manager.
The North London club have been on the hunt for a new boss ever since Antonio Conte left the club in March. Conte’s assistant, Cristian Stellini and club coach Ryan Mason, had managed the club till the end of the season in the absence of a permanent manager.
Tottenham considered several managerial options, including the likes of former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann, former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot,
But they have now finally settled on Celtic boss Postecoglou, who has signed a four-year deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Australian enjoyed two impressive years at the helm of Celtic, with whom he won the treble last season after securing Premiership and League Cup glory in his first year in charge.
“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play,” said chairman Daniel Levy.
“He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our Club.
“We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead.”
Postecoglou becomes the first Australian to manage in the Premier League. The 57-year-old has also spent time in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos. He was also in charge of the Australian national team between 2013 and 2017, impressing at the 2014 World Cup and walking away after qualifying for the tournament in 2018.
Chelsea have asked Kai Harvetz to extend his current deal at the club, or he will be sold this summer.
The Blues are putting their foot down over player contracts. This is in line with the policy brought in under new owner Todd Boehly, and they want to see Havertz tied down to a new contract.
The German international is a transfer target of Real Madrid, with Los Blancos looking to sign the striker after losing Karim Benzema at the end of the season.
The Frenchman announced that he would leave when his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu expires. He is thought to have received a mage offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, leading him to cut his stay at Madrid by one year.
Therefore, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are looking for a replacement and have identified Kai Havertz as an option.
Chelsea do not want to sell the German striker as they see him as their main attacking outlet. He scored nine goals to become the club’s top scorer for the season alongside Raheem Sterling.
However, according to Sportsmail, the Blues could sanction a sale if the 23-year-old refuses to commit to a new deal at the club.
Havertz has two years remaining on the five-year deal he signed when he joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 and now faces a difficult choice ahead of the summer transfer window opening.
Should he leave, then he will join the likes of Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are all expected to leave as part of a midfield overhaul.
Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister to sign the midfielder set to undergo a medical with the club on Tuesday.
According to 90min, Jurgen Klopp’s men are leading the race for the Argentina international’s signature and want to finalise a deal for him this week.
Liverpool have maintained a long-term interest in Mac Allister but made him a priority signing this summer after missing out on Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.
The Reds had wanted to sign the English teenager but were priced out of the deal as Dortmund’s asking price was too much for them.
However, they also felt that other clubs like Manchester City and Real Madrid would be able to offer more to Bellingham, so they turned their attention to Mac Allister.
According to reports, the 24-year-old is interested in moving to Anfield and has agreed personal terms with Liverpool.
90min is reporting that he had agreed on a long-term contract with Liverpool.
Mac Allister’s deal with Brighton is understood to include a clause which Liverpool will activate to push this move closer to completion.
The same report claims that Liverpool are acting quickly to seal the deal for the 24-year-old and have scheduled a medical for him on Tuesday. The deal is expected to be announced this week.
Should Mac Allister join Liverpool this week, he will be the first signing in the summer transfer window, which is expected to be full of many outgoings and incoming players.
He is now set to become a free agent and has attracted interest from several top clubs in the Premier League.
Top six side Arsenal have been long-term suitors, while Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool side are also linked with his signature, with the Reds keen on a squad rebuild.
However, according to Sportsmail, Afton Villa have joined the race for the Belgian. However, Unai Emery wants a quick answer from the 26-year-old as he plans his summer rebuild.
Villa wants to build a squad that can compete in the Conference League and push towards the Premier League’s top four next season. They see Tielemans as an experienced head that will improve their squad.
The Belgian has a lot of Premier League experience and is famous for scoring the winning goal in Leicester’s FA Cup win over Chelsea two seasons ago.
Meanwhile, Tielemans is one of seven players released by Leicester City after they were relegated.
Turkish international Caglar Soyuncu has an agreement with Atletico Madrid, while Ghanaian international Daniel Amartey, Tete, Ayoze Perez and Nampalys Mendy have also left.

Today’s match between Minnesota and Toronto could be thrilling and highly competitive, despite the point differential. It is worth considering that these clubs have scored almost the same number of goals for and against, so, the final margin of victory could be small.
Minnesota has been a bit more consistent than Toronto, and with them having a home-field advantage, that may be enough for them to come out on top. They should win but by a small margin.
The game between Columbus Crew VS Charlotte FC promises to be an exciting one. Both clubs are in a competitive position in the standings, which means the match will have a lot of tension.

Columbus Crew has just secured a significant win in the MLS against the Colorado Rapids. It was a high-scoring match with a final result of 3-2. They started with a deficit, but rapidly turned the game around with goals scored by Lucas Zelarayán, Cucho Hernández, and Sean Zawadzki.
But, today’s game will be challenging for Columbus because Charlotte is only a spot below it in the standings and has almost the same results.
Luckily, the Crew has a home-field advantage. The numbers speak for themselves, as the team has gotten great results in 8 home matches, recording just one loss, five victories, and two draws. Columbus has a high scoring rate at home, averaging 2.62 goals per match.
Possible lineup (4-4-2): Patrick Schulte; Steven Moreira, Malte Amundsen, Exon Gustavo, Vallecilla, Mohammed Farsi; Philip Quinton, Darlington Nagbe, Lucas Zelarayan, Aidan Morris; Cucho Hernandez, Yaw Yeboah.

Charlotte FC has played one more match than Columbus so far in the MLS. In the last game, it was defeated by the Philadelphia Union, which is way ahead of it in the Eastern Conference standings.
But, they displayed a great performance against Crew and Atlanta United. They got a 1-3 win on the road, with Justin Meram and Karol Świderski scoring goals. This indicates that they have good chances against the guests.
On the road, Charlotte has been able to get good results just like at home. Matter of fact, the gaps between those results are not too much. The biggest challenge for this team is its defensive performance, as it has given up more goals than scored.
Possible lineup (3-4-3): Kristijan Kahlina, Adilson Malanda, Bill Tuiloma, Harrison Afful; Nathan Byrne, Brandt Bronico, Derrick Jones, Ashley Westwood, Justin Meram, Karol Świderski, Kerwin Calderon.
MatchPlug Prediction
Today’s match between Columbus and Charlotte will be between two closely-ranked teams in the Eastern Conference. It is looking like a high-scoring game that may end in a draw, as their recent records show how they can swing to the extreme.
Both clubs have players who score easily, and their scoring history is a key factor. The Crew has fantastic performances at home, while Charlotte struggles to match. Additionally, they haven’t scored above one goal when playing on the road. Which is why experts predict a home win.

Florida was the last team to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference but has gotten fired up at the right time to deliver an incredible run.
Vegas ended the year with the best record in the Western Conference and have ridden smoothly through the playoffs to reach the Final for the second time in 5 years.
Both teams intend to begin the series strong and take Game One and this series should be a good one as a result.
The Vegas Golden Knights are ticking all the boxes in this game with their offense rising to the challenge and scoring 3.64 goals per game during playoffs.
Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault have scored 15 goals and 20 assists to head the top line but the offense has been impressive generally. Ivan Barbashev, Mark Stone, and William Karlsson combine for 22 goals and 22 assists.

Alex Pietrangelo and Shea Theodore share a goal and 15 assists from the point to put the team’s offense over the top. Florida Panthers proved the naysayers wrong throughout the playoffs and looks to begin the Stanley Cup Final with a road upset. But, Vegas Golden Knights dominated in the playoffs and want to control today’s game on both ends of the ice.
Vegas is averaging 3.64 goals per game, they should bring on the goals with Eichel, Stone, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with swift passes and effective puck movement.
The Golden Knights are allowing just 2.56 goals per game in the playoffs, they will limit the Panthers’ offense with Pietrangelo, Martinez and the other defensive unit members creating turnovers in the defensive zone obstructing shots on the net. This should allow Hill to make plenty of big saves.
Vegas Golden Knights should win Game One with a powerful performance on their home ice.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos has announced that he will leave the French club at the end of this season when his contract expires.
The veteran Spanish defender joined PSG on a free transfer from Real Madrid two seasons ago. But he will call up his time at the French capital after making his 58th appearance for the Parisians in their season finale against Clermont Foot on Saturday.
Questions over the defender’s future at PSG were raised when he was conspicuously omitted from a graphic promoting the club’s pre-season tour of Japan. But the fears were confirmed later on Friday when it was announced that the 37-year-old Spaniard would leave the club in the coming weeks.
“Wearing the Red and Blue shirt for the last two years has been a wonderful experience,” Ramos said.
“I’ve had an unforgettable adventure in Paris, and I’d like to thank you all for your support and love. Allez Paris!”
Ramos later took to Twitter to add: “Tomorrow will be a special day; Tomorrow, I will say goodbye to another stage of my life, goodbye to PSG.
“I don’t know how many places you can feel at home, but without a doubt, PSG, its fans and Paris have been one of them for me.”
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi added: “We would like to express our immense gratitude to Sergio Ramos for the two years he has spent with us.
“Sergio’s leadership, team spirit and professionalism, combined with his experience at the highest level, make him a true football legend, and it was an honour to have him in Paris. Everyone at the club wishes him all the best.”
Ramos is understood to be on the radar of some Saudi Arabian clubs, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr side the likeliest destination.
Chelsea will reportedly demand a fee of around £35m to sell Mateo Kovacic this summer.
The Croatian midfielder is attracting serious interest from Manchester City and he is likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer as the Premier League champions opened talks with him over a move to the Etihad.
Kovacic has one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea wants to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for nothing next season. The Blues also want to sell him this summer as they hope that proceeds from his sale will help them fund their own midfield moves.
PSG confirm Lionel Messi is LEAVING the club at the end of this week
New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of Sporting CP’s Manuel Ugarte and sees him as a perfect replacement for Kovacic.
The London club also remain keen on Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and West Ham’s Declan Rice. But they know they need to raise money to finance those deals to avoid breaking Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
As such, they are prepared to cash in on Kovacic this summer, and according to 90min, they have put a £35m price tag on the Croatia international’s head.
City are not expected to be worried over that sum, and they continue to move forward with their pursuit of Kovacic after making progress in negotiations with his agent.
