Charlotte FC had a night to remember on Saturday, setting club records for goals scored and margin of victory with a 6-1 demolition of Red Bull New York at Bank of America Stadium.
Pep Biel got things started early, assisting Idan Toklamati from a set piece in the 14th minute to open the scoring. The 29-year-old Spaniard then added a pinpoint free kick from just outside the box in the second half to make it 3-0, his fourth goal in five matches this season.
Wilfried Zaha got in on the act in the 68th minute, receiving the ball in stride, driving his defender into the box and curling a powerful shot into the side netting to make it 4-0. It was his first goal of the season.
Archie Goodwin capped the night with a late brace, his first MLS goals, assisted by designated player Liel Abada.
The result continued Charlotte’s unbeaten home record this season and continued a strong recent run for the club. After earning just one point in their first two matches of 2026, the Crown have picked up seven points from their last three games to climb into third place in the Eastern Conference with eight points.
Coach Dean Smith will be pleased that the goals are coming from multiple sources, with Toklamati also netting his second of the season as the young striker builds on an impressive 2025 campaign.
Charlotte return to Bank of America Stadium on April 4 to host a struggling Philadelphia Union side at 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV.
