Fiorentina have increased security and contacted authorities after players, staff and their families received threats following Saturday’s 3–1 loss to Sassuolo. The defeat left the club winless in 14 games and bottom of Serie A.
The club condemned the “unacceptable and shameful” messages and voiced full support for everyone affected, stressing that intimidation and violence have no place in football.
Fiorentina host Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa Conference League on Thursday before facing Hellas Verona in Serie A on Sunday.
