The Golden State Warriors are set to welcome Jonathan Kuminga back after the forward agreed to a two-year contract worth up to $46.5 million.
Kuminga was due in the Bay Area on Wednesday and expected at Chase Center on Thursday for a physical and his first practice.
Coach Steve Kerr said his first step will be a sit-down with the 23-year-old.
“At the heart of any good team culture is communication. We have to have a really good sit down,” Kerr said.
Kerr stressed the offense will still run through Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler III, urging Kuminga to focus on defence and running the floor to earn more minutes.
“Everybody progresses at a different rate,” Kerr added. “There will be times we’ll get him the ball and run the offense through him.”
The Warriors also signed veteran centre Al Horford, 39, on Wednesday.
