Trae Young is dealing with two injuries and has no timetable for his return.
The Washington Wizards announced before Saturday’s game against the Thunder that Young is out indefinitely with a right quadriceps contusion and lower back irritation. The team said both injuries are being treated conservatively and will not require surgery at this time.
Young re-injured the quadriceps during the third quarter of Washington’s game against Golden State on Monday.
“He’s also been dealing with a little bit of back pain, so we did a little bit of imaging,” coach Brian Keefe said. “The back has been irritated. Don’t have a timeline on any of that stuff yet.”
Young was acquired in a trade from the Atlanta Hawks on January 9 and has appeared in five games with Washington, averaging 15.2 points and 6.2 assists.
The Wizards have lost 14 games in a row.
