Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has talked about his similarities with his son Kai Rooney.
Kai plays for Manchester’s academy and has been very impressive at youth level.
Rooney Snr., who is now managing Plymouth, looks forward to watching soon become a professional.
Rooney when speaking to The Overlap said: “He’s got my physique. He’ll be taller than me.
“He’s a goalscorer. In the box he sniffs chances out and that’s his game, he’s doing okay.”
In the future, he added: “It’s too early. I think he’s showing potential and good signs.
“He’ll be at United for the next two years and then that’s when they make decisions on you, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
When asked if he was tough on his sons, Rooney laughed and stated: “Not really, no.
“I ask them questions. So after training or games, I’ll ask them what they think, and just try to give them a little guidance really.
“Like his goal against City on Tuesday. As a forward you get told to run across the front post, so he kept doing it.
“I said ‘you need to be aware of who’s in the penalty area. If you’re on your own, you need to make the decision whether to go front or back’.
“He was on his own and he pulled to the back post, the ball came and he scores a header – so just little things like that.”
