Raphinha scored three goals as Barcelona swept aside Sevilla 5-2 at Camp Nou to restore their four-point lead at the top of La Liga, ending the visitors’ five-match unbeaten run in emphatic fashion.
The Brazilian broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the eighth minute, cheekily converting with a Panenka for his first league goal since January. He did not have to wait long for his second, also from 12 yards, after Jose Angel Carmona handled Joao Cancelo’s cutback in the area. Raphinha this time fired low and hard to make it 2-0.
Dani Olmo put the game beyond doubt shortly after, latching onto a counter-attack to slam home a low drive and make it 3-0. Sevilla grabbed a lifeline just before half-time through Oso’s cushioned volley, but the reprieve was brief. Six minutes into the second half, a sharp pass from substitute Fermin Lopez found Raphinha, whose shot deflected in off Nemanja Gudelj to complete the hat-trick.
Joao Cancelo added a fifth on the hour, driving past the defence before slotting through the keeper’s legs for his first goal since rejoining the club. Djibril Sow scored a late consolation for Sevilla, but it did little to disguise a comfortable Barcelona victory.
The win extended Barcelona’s remarkable home record to 15 consecutive La Liga victories at Camp Nou, their best such run since 2019, and kept them unbeaten in 23 successive home meetings with Sevilla.
