Odell Beckham Jr. wants back in the NFL, and he is using a flag football tournament to remind people he can still play.
The former star wide receiver participated in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic over the weekend and made his intentions clear afterwards.
“Looking forward to hopefully getting an opportunity to play this year, and hopefully this is just a starting point,” Beckham told Kay Adams at the event.
Beckham was asked specifically about a possible reunion with the New York Giants, where he began his career, and whether he would welcome the chance to play alongside young quarterback Jaxson Dart.
“That sounds great,” Beckham said. “If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that. He’s young and he likes to have fun. If I get that opportunity.”
Beckham showed he can still make catches at the flag event, including a one-handed touchdown over a defender. The question is whether he can consistently get open against NFL cornerbacks at age 33.
Beckham last played in an NFL game on December 8, 2024, before being released by the Miami Dolphins. He had nine games with Miami that season after stints with the Giants, Browns, Rams, Ravens and a year away from the game entirely in 2022.
Beckham posted five straight 1,000-yard seasons early in his career but has not recaptured that level of production due to age and injuries. No teams have been reported to have shown interest since his release, but all it takes is one opportunity.
