NHL’s Morgan Barron shows off scar after taking a skate to his face

morgan barron gets scar from skate

Morgan Barron looks like he had been inside a horror movie after he took a skate to his face this week. He showed off the face scar when speaking with reporters on Thursday.

Barron met with the media before gearing up for Game 2 of the Jets’ first-round contest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and he gave the public a first look at the damage done by the skating incident.

“You know, some guys have told me it looks better than expected and some guys look at me like I’m a science project, so I’ve kind of gotten both ends of the spectrum,” Barron said. “I think it feels better than it looks.”

The Winnipeg Jets center got the injury which required 75 stitches, during the first period of his team’s 5-1 win over the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. Barron managed to come back to the game halfway through the second period after he was patched up.

Morgan Barron’s scar runs from his right eye to the top of his forehead, but he is wearing his new accessory with pride and even smiling for the cameras.

His eyes showed some discolouration in the aftermath.

The injury could have been worse even if it is hard to believe this. When the incident happened, Vegas forward Chandler Stephenson reacted fast and pulled Barron off Golden Knights goalie Laurent Brossoit’s skate to avoid more serious damage.

Barron said he would thank Stephenson before the puck dropped, adding that he will give him a stick tap as a way to convey his appreciation for his actions.
