Mohammed Salah Wins CAF African Footballer of the Year

Liverpool’s star man Mohammed Salah has added another accolade to his collection of awards after winning the CAF African Footballer of the Year award.

The Egyptian helped his country qualify for the world cup this year by scoring the winning goal, he also helped Roma finished behind Juventus in the Italian Serie A.

He sealed a summer move to Liverpool and has continued to impress the world of football.

The Egyptian has already scored 23 goals for Liverpool with the season just at the halfway point.

He came first in the award, which also had his Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane as second and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as third.

Jurgen Klopp allowed the duo to travel for the award despite the Reds having to play arch-rivals Everton in the  FA Cup on Friday.

Salah is not expected to feature in the Derby clash, but Sadio Mane should play after netting in his last outing for the Reds.

Salah has been courted by some of Europe’s best sides so far, with a move to Real Madrid also on the pipeline should he continue his hot streak of form.
