Matthew Tkachuk will be sidelined for Team USA’s 4 Nations Face-Off matchup against Sweden at TD Garden on Monday due to a lower-body injury.
The forward missed the final 12:36 of the third period in the 3-1 win over Canada on Saturday and sat out the morning skate on Monday.
With the U.S. already secured a spot in Thursday’s final, playing against Sweden is not so important because it doesn’t affect their standings.
Sweden was eliminated before the game, and Canada advanced with a 5-3 win over Finland earlier on Monday.
