Manchester United have agreed a £46million deal with Ajax for the signature of Lisandro Martinez.
The Argentinian has been the subject of interest from United and Arsenal after winning the Player of the Year award at Ajax last season.
However, the Dutchmen were reluctant to sell him and have been ignoring United’s bid.
The versatile left-footer insisted it was a dream to play in the Premier League and that has forced them to agree a deal with United.
Matchplug understands that they have agreed to sell him to the Red Devils in a transfer worth £46million.
Both clubs are now meeting to iron out the details to the transfer after he refused to return to training.
United expects to finish the business soon so that he can travel to join the rest of the squad in their preseason tour.
Meanwhile, they have also reached an agreement with Barcelona over a move for Frenkie de Jong, but the midfielder is being owed salaries by the Catalans and is refusing to leave.
