Liverpool turn to Victor Wanyama as replacement for Emre Can

Liverpool have given up hopes of signing Emre Can to a new deal and the Reds have begun looking for his replacement.

The German has been a great player to the Reds since he joined them from Bayer Leverkusen in an £8 million deal in the summer of 2014.

His performances for Liverpool has seen him earn regular call-ups to the German national team and he is set to continue his development elsewhere.

Juventus have been tracking him and trying to get him to sign a pre-contract agreement with them. He has continued to refute claims that he has already guaranteed the Italians that he would be joining them in the summer.

Wanyama has just returned from a log injury layoff, but he is still considered one of the best midfield players in the English top division.

He has lost his place in the Lilywhites line up mainly because of the form of Moussa Dembele and Eric Dier, but Mauricio Pochettino wants him to remian in his team.

Jurgen Klopp believes Wanyama can replace when he does leave, but he knows it would be very hard to get Tottenham to agree to sell the Kenyan.
