Liverpool still has its sights on Fluminense despite reports of the club abandoning its interest in Andre Trindade. The team joined a host of other clubs in the Premier League that are tracking teenage sensation Matheus Reis, according to Calciomercato (per Sport Witness).
Reis comes with a release clause, but, worth a whopping £43.6m – an amount Jurgen Klopp’s men reportedly are not afraid of.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea including a number of Spanish clubs are all said to be eager to sign the 16-year-old forward who is yet to make a senior appearance for Fluminense.
While Reis is not the player fans expected Liverpool to draft in January, they cannot fault Liverpool for staying vigilant when it comes to world up-and-coming football talents.
The main priority in all of this, remains the back and midfield, should they find an acceptable option to strengthen the centre of defence or the No.6 position.
It remains to be seen if there is any player that is good enough to rival Alexis Mac Allister or compete with Jarell Quansah for minutes.
