Leicester City star, Riyad Mahrez is desperate to move to Anfield this month.
The Algerian has been linked with Liverpool after the Reds sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £146 million.
However, Liverpool are yet to make contact with the Foxes or the player’s representatives.
According to Sun Sport, the Reds reluctance to act fast may see them lose out to Arsenal who are also keen on the Algerian.
Per the reports, the Gunners would move for Mahrez if they manage to sell Sanchez to Manchester City this month.
Mahrez’s representatives have reportedly been waiting for Liverpool’s call since the news of their client being the ideal replacement for Coutinho broke out on the internet, but there hasn’t been any contact yet.
Jurgen Klopp is hoping to replace Coutinho this month with another midfielder but they are not in a hurry.
Liverpool are also set to resume talks with RB Leipzig this weekend about the possibility of bringing forward the summer arrival of Naby Keita.
The Guinean is reportedly keen on joining Liverpool this month, but the Reds would have to pay a premium fee for them allow him to leave early.
