Patrick Kane has been on the same side of history with Alex Ovechkin’s before. However, we might not see that happening again as Kane and the Detroit Red Wings play against Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena on Tuesday.
Kane doesn’t seem to mind and is amazed at Ovechkin just needing eight goals to surpass Wayne Gretzky’s NHL record of 894.
After the Red Wings Morning Skate on Tuesday, Kane said, “I think a lot of us probably thought that record would never be broken and here he is,” “Eventually, he’s going to break it at some point in time.
“I think everyone that’s playing the game is excited for him to get a chance to break that record and see that happen.”
