Jurgen Klopp hints at potential Liverpool return in future

Jurgen Klopp has opened the door to a possible return to Liverpool, saying it’s “theoretically possible” he could one day come back to the club he led for nearly a decade.

The 58-year-old German stepped down as Reds manager in 2024 after nine successful years. He resigned due to exhaustion from the demands of top-level coaching. Earlier this year, he began a new role as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer, overseeing the company’s football network.

Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, Klopp admitted he remains deeply connected to Liverpool.

“I said I would never coach a different team in England. So that means if I did return to England, then it’s Liverpool. Yeah, theoretically it’s possible,” he said.

“I don’t know exactly, I love what I do right now. I don’t miss coaching, I do coach now, but just different. I don’t miss standing in the rain, two-and-a-half (to) three hours, I don’t miss going to press conferences three times a week, having 12 interviews a week, I don’t miss that, I don’t.”
