Japan’s Ritsu Doan signs for Frankfurt from Freiburg

Eintracht Frankfurt have secured the signing of Japanese forward Ritsu Doan. He was signed from Bundesliga rivals Freiburg on a five-year contract running until 2030, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The 27-year-old leaves Freiburg after three seasons, during which he recorded 26 goals and 23 assists in 123 appearances.
Frankfurt will feature in the Champions League this season.

“Ritsu Doan has consistently shown his quality in the Bundesliga and brings the attributes we need to meet our ambitions,” said Eintracht sporting director Markus Krosche.
“With his international experience for Japan, combined with his technique, pace, and mentality, he really stood out at Freiburg. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Before moving to Germany, Doan spent four years in the Dutch Eredivisie with Groningen and PSV Eindhoven.
