Fiorentina delivered their biggest away league win since October 2024, beating fellow relegation-threatened Cremonese 4-1 to move four points clear of the Serie A bottom three.
Cremonese needed a win to lift themselves out of the drop zone, and they showed intent early when Federico Bonazzoli beat the offside trap only to be denied at the near post. But it was Fiorentina who broke the deadlock when Fabiano Parisi, having already had one effort saved, tricked his way into the area with a clever piece of footwork before firing through the legs of goalkeeper Emil Audero.
The visitors doubled their lead shortly after when Robin Gosens picked out Roberto Piccoli’s intelligent run with a perfectly weighted through ball, which the forward finished confidently. Cremonese had lost 10 of their 11 previous league matches this season when trailing at half-time, and their only real chance before the break fell to Tommaso Barbieri, who blazed well over from distance.
Any hope of a comeback was effectively ended within minutes of the restart when Dodo surged down the right, sold a dummy to both the goalkeeper and a defender, and slotted into an empty net for a stunning solo goal. Cremonese pulled one back through David Okereke, who slid home after being found in space near the penalty spot, but it proved only a consolation.
Albert Gudmundsson restored the three-goal advantage by finding the bottom corner from inside the area, wrapping up a comfortable victory. Cremonese are now three points from safety after extending their winless run to 15 games. Fiorentina, by contrast, have lost just once in their last six league fixtures since February.
