Coventry took another step toward the Premier League after snatching a dramatic 2-1 victory over Stoke on Saturday.
Jack Rudoni struck deep into stoppage time to seal a fourth consecutive win for the Championship leaders, who are chasing a return to the top-flight for the first time since the 2000-01 season.
Haji Wright had given Frank Lampard’s side the lead with a header before Ben Gibson levelled just before half-time, converting what turned out to be Stoke’s only shot on target.
Coventry now sit eight points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough, who face Birmingham on Monday.
Elsewhere, Millwall made it a winning afternoon at Preston thanks to a stunning opener from right-back Ryan Leonard. The defender curled home his first Championship goal of the season from just inside the penalty area in the 29th minute, setting his side on course for a comfortable 2-0 triumph.
