The Washington Commanders got encouraging news on Jayden Daniels elbow injury.
An MRI showed no ligament damage to his dislocated left elbow, and the quarterback won’t need surgery, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The team will not place Daniels on injured reserve and plans to re-evaluate him during their Week 12 bye.
Daniels, who sought multiple medical opinions, received what was described as “the best possible outcome.” While he remains out indefinitely, there’s optimism he could return later this season.
The elbow issue is the latest in a string of injuries for the young QB, who has already missed games with knee and hamstring problems this year.
Daniels was hurt in the fourth quarter of Washington’s Week 9 loss to Seattle when his arm twisted awkwardly during a tackle. He was seen with his arm in an air cast and was quickly ruled out, sparking fears his season might be over.
For now, though, the Commanders are hopeful their quarterback can make it back before year’s end.
