According to reports, The Colorado Rapids have acquired homegrown midfielder Josh Atencio from the Seattle Sounders on Saturday.
In exchange, Seattle will receive $1.3 million in General Allocation Money (GAM) which will be used for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The deal also includes an additional $300k in conditional GAM and will retain a percentage of any future transfer or trade.
“We’re delighted to welcome Josh to the Rapids,” said Colorado president Pádraig Smith. “He’s a young, talented midfielder who has already gained significant MLS experience and has the potential and mentality to take his game to another level.”
