Liverpool ask Barcelona to pay £100 million up front for Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool are prepared to listen to Barcelona’s offer for Philippe Coutinho this month, however, the Catalans would have to pay at least £100 million up front to get their man. According to The Sun, the Reds have set a total asking price of £132 million for the Brazilian’s signature. Coutinho is also keen on a move to the Catalans and several reports have been surfacing of him trying to force the move through this month, with some even suggesting he has already begun house hunting in Catalonia. Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp would love him to stay until the summer at least when he would have sorted out a replacement, with Schalke’s Leon Goretzka his number one target. Barcelona are not the only side interested in signing Coutinho, PSG are also monitoring his situation as his best friend, Neymar would love to have him at the Parc des Princess. However, Coutinho has his heart set on moving to Spain to play alongside his former team mate, Luis Suarez. He has reportedly already agreed a five years deal with the Catalans that would see him at least double his current earnings.

Wilfried reveals where he would be after the January transfer window

Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City have been dealt a major blow in their plans to sign Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha this month. According to Sun Sport,  Zaha has revealed that he would not be leaving Crystal Palace this month. The winger has been in blistering form this season, and his performances for the Eagles has seen him linked with a host of top clubs who believe he is ready for the big time once again. The Ivorian had a torrid time when he played for Manchester United in the 2013/2014 season. David Moyes did not trust the young winger at the time and he left Old Trafford after just one season. But his form this season at the age of 25 has encouraged the top six sides to take notice. His manager Roy Hogson had told reporters that he was expecting bids for the winger this month, but went on to issue a hands off warning, claiming they would not be entertaining any bids. Zaha seem to have reechoed Hogson’s stance and that would have delighted the club’s fans as they are currently battling relegation in 17th position. When asked if he would remain with Palace beyond this season, the winger answered: “Yep, I am”

Real Madrid prepare £120 million opening bid for Eden Hazard

Real Madrid are planning to test Chelsea’s resolve with an opening bid of £120 million for the signature of Eden Hazard next summer. The European champions have been on the trail of the Belgian for the past few seasons, but they are ready to swoop. The Belgian is reportedly keen and has been giving the Spaniards the green light. Hazard has delayed signing a new Chelsea deal, a move that many consider a deliberate ploy to encourage Real Madrid to make their interest in his services firm. According to Sun Sport, Zinedine Zidane is looking to use his contract situation at Chelsea to make him a Galactico. Hazard’s current deal expires in the summer of 2020, but after 6 years at Stamford Bridge he appears to be looking for a new challenge. The report also claims Real Madrid know that his value will drop drastically when he enters the final two years his current deal and refuses to extend it. Last week the attacker’s father Thierry Hazard seem to join in encouraging Real Madrid to make an offer for him by claiming his son was waiting to know if they are interested in him.

Manchester United transfer plans receive a major blow as Napoli agree deal to sign their major target

Manchester United have been dealt a major blow in their quest to sign Alex Grimaldo. The Red Devils have been tracking the former Barcelona youngster in their quest to sign a new left back, but may have lost out to SS Napoli. According to reports in Portugal and Italy, the Italian Serie A leaders have stolen a match on United and have agreed to sign Grimaldo for £27 million. The Sun claims the Italians are currently negotiating personal terms with the 22 years old. If he does join Napoli, it would be a major blow  to Manchester United who are still in the hunt for a long term solution to their problematic left back, and that would force them to intensify their efforts to sign Tottenham’s Danny Rose. Jose Mourinho has had to use Ashley Young as a makeshift left back this season due to the continued absence of Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo. The Portuguese manager has reportedly given up on Luke Shaw, and although the England international has found his way back into the United’s first team in recent weeks, the Portuguese manager is still not a fan.

Manchester City to swoop on Barcelona defender next month

Pep Guradiola is set to sign Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti for £50 million next month. The Catalan boss is looking for a new defender after his star men, Vincent Kompany and John Stones suffered injuries. Guardiola knows that an injury to Nicolas Otamendi would mean he would have no other defender he can play and that could derail his team’s momentum. The Cityzen’s missed out on the signing of Virgil van Dijk last week after Liverpool pipped them to the £75 million transfer of the Dutch man. Samuel Umtiti’s release clause was revealed to be just £50 million earlier this week, a sum which is not too much for any top European side to shell out considering his form with the Catalans before he got injured. Meanwhile Sergio Aguero could be playing his last season at the Etihad after it emerged that he wants to return home to Argentina. Aguero has scored 15 goals already this season, but feels Guardiola does not rate him high enough, and he prefers a move back home to Independiente than joining Real Madrid. He is adored by the club’s fans as his transfer fee to Atletico Madrid help them renovate their stadia.

According to Daily Mail the Catalans are worried that Manchester United would trigger the release clause of their star defender Samuel Umtiti. The French has been the fulcrum of their defence this season, and his form has forced Javier Mascherano to seek a move to China. The French man 24, has a £50 million release clause written into his current Barcelona deal, a sum that looked very huge at the time of its signing. However, with van Dijk’s move to Liverpool, the Catalans are now fearing for his future. Manchester United are looking for a new centre back after seeing Eric Baily injure his hamstring, and the form of new Swedish import Victor Lindelof hasn’t been consistent. Manchester City could also prise Umtiti away after losing out to Liverpool for the signature of van Dijk. The Cityzens are also looking at West Brom’s Johnny Evans and Inigo Martinez of Real Sociedad. Barcelona could consider handing Umtiti a new deal primarily to increase his current release clause.
