Arsenal come into this game looking to close the gap on the top four having fallen 6 points adrift of the 4th position. Interestingly they play Chelsea who are currently 4th, if they lose this game, they would be in for a tough time ending the season inside the top four and may even start the new week outside the top 5 should Manchester United win. The Gunners have played well when they play at home recently with their last two games there ending in wins over Burnley and Fulham. They scored 7 goals in those games and conceded just 2 times, Unai Emery would be hoping for more of the same but Chelsea are of a different quality to the above opponents. Chelsea started the reign of Maurizio Sarri Brightly, but the Blues have since gone through a rough patch. they have struggled for goals recently as they haven’t scored more than 2 goals in over 10 game. They beat Newcastle 2-1 at home in their last league game, but it was obvious that they are struggling to get goals and Arsenal should take advantage of that here.

Crystal Palace’s win over Manchester City last month helped Liverpool move 7 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, the Eagles have gone on to win their next away game and it would be a shocker if they earn yet another win here. They have been impressive when they visit Anfield in the past as they had a three games winning streak there until last season. Liverpool have made Anfield an absolute fortress these days as only Manchester City have stopped them from scoring there this season. They have scored 27 goals and conceded just 3 times there also this season and it is hard not to see a win for the Premier League leaders on current form. Liverpool overcame a very difficult Brighton side 1-0 last weekend to help them recover from a two games losing streak which included an FA Cup exit at hands of Wolves. The Reds have won all of their last 3 games against the Eagles.

This may be start of the year and the second half of the league season, however, this game could potentially have the biggest impact on the Premier League title race. Manchester City were expected to run away with the Premier League title again this seasons but the Cityzens have seen how difficult a task it is to retain the Premier League crown and they come into this game 7 points off Liverpool. A win for Manchester City would end Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the season and also close the points gap to 4 points. Although Liverpool would still lead the Premier League table they would have halted the Reds’ momentum. A defeat for the hosts would mean that Liverpool now has a 10 points gap on them at the top of the Premier League table. Manchester City come into this game with 3 losses from their last 5 league games including a home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace. Liverpool have dropped just six points in the Premier League this season and they come into this game on the back of 9 consecutive league wins including a 5-1 demolishing against Arsenal in their last league game. The Reds have however, dropped points against the top six having failed to win at Chelsea and Arsenal, they would be keen on winning here to keep their momentum going.

Southampton survived relegation from the Premier League by some stroke of luck last season and they were expected to be even more competitive this time around, but they started very poorly and that cost Mark Hughes his job. The Saints have named Austrian Ralph Hassenhuttl as their manager and the former RB Leipzig boss has begun his reign in an outstanding fashion. They became the first team to beat Arsenal in 23 games and also defeated Huddersfield Town 3-1 in their very next game. However, they were beaten 2-1 at home by West Ham in their last league game and they need to perform another giant killing act here to get a good result. Manchester City were expected to run away with the Premier League title this season after they totaled 100 points to claim the crown the last time out. However, the Cityzens have encountered a rough patch recently and come into this game 7 points off the top as well as well as on a run of two straight losses. They would be looking to get back to their early season form that saw them go 15 matches unbeaten. They have won all their 4 games against Southampton under Pep Guardiola.

Burnley have becoming one of the mainstay of the Premier League over the past few seasons despite having one of the smallest budgets. They surprised everyone when they finished 7th in the league last season and qualified for the Europa League. However, their participation in Europe’s second biggest competition has affected their form and they are yet to recover it. They come into this game firmly in the relegation battle on the 18th position and their fans would be keen for their team to avoid the 5-1 mauling the suffered at the hands of Everton in their last game here. West Ham hired a former Premier League winner as their manager as they look to become one of the contenders for a European place in the Premier League, and Manuel Pellegrini has begun helping the Hammers get closer to achieving that goal. They have won 5 of their last 6 Premier League games and come into this game in the 9th position on the league table. It seems like only a matter of time before they break inside the top 7.

Crystal Palace remain one of the most unpredictable teams in the Premier League at the moment, but they also have the reputation of being a team that knows just how to cause an upset at just about any time. The Eagles would have been hoping to be far away from the relegation zone at this stage of the season, however, their inconsistent form means they come into this game on the 14th position on the league table. They beat Manchester City at the Etihad last weekend and several people expected them to build on that but they failed to do so and were held to a draw in their last game at home by Cardiff City. Despite their last result and the lack of a prolific goal scorer, the Eagles can still shock the Blues like they always do when they play against the top teams. Chelsea had a solid start to the season and remained unbeaten in all competition in a long time. However, they have since begun to lose games and were beaten recently at home by Leicester City. They recovered from that 1-0 loss to the Foxes to beat Watford 2-1 in their last league game. Their fans would be hoping for more of the same in this game.

Arsenal would be heading for this game in search of a win after back to back losses. The Gunners were riding high on a 22 games unbeaten run in all competitions before they succumbed to a 3-2 loss at Southampton last weekend, they were beaten 2-0 at home again by Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and it seems like the time has come for them to show how much they have improved under Unai Emery. They haven’t lost at home in the league since the start of the season and they have beaten Tottenham, Qarabag, and Huddersfield at the Emirates this month, their fans would be expecting them to earn another win here just before Christmas. Burnley are struggling this season and the Clarets are yet to recover from their participation in the Europa League earlier in the season. They come into this game in the relegation zone as they have collected just 12 points all season and only 4 of those points have come away from home. The Clarets have lost all of their last 3 matches against the Gunners.

Manchester United and Liverpool face off in the Premier League’s biggest game of the weekend as the Reds look to remain at the top of the Premier League table while the Red Devils look to close the gap on the top four before it gets too big. Liverpool needed to win 1-0 at home in the Champions League on Tuesday, and the Reds did just that  now they would turn their attention towards unseating Manchester City at the top of the league table as the Cityzens are expected to beat Everton on Saturday. Liverpool have won 13 of their 16 Premier League games this season and remain the only English team yet to be beaten at this stage of the season. Manchester United suffered a 2-1  loss against Valencia in their Champions League game on Wednesday, while that is not an ideal way to prepare for a game against Liverpool, their fans would feel that was a hugely understrength United side. With Liverpool facing an injury crisis in defence, Manchester United would be looking to take advantage and maintain their good record under Jose Mourinho against the Reds. Manchester United have won 1 and drawn 3 of their last 4 meetings with Liverpool.

Manchester City would be looking to get back to winning ways as well as the top of the Premier League table when they host Everton in this early kickoff, but the Toffees almost always gets a result when they visit the Cityzens. Chelsea defeated City 2-0 to bring their unbeaten run to an end, but the Cityzens have a 100 percent record at the Etihad in the league this season, and they haven’t lost consecutive Premier League games in a long long time. A win or draw here would take them temporarily to the top of the Premier League table, but they face an in-form Everton side in this game. Apart from their recent form in the league generally, Everton have a good record when they play Manchester City at the Etihad. The Toffees haven’t lost in 4 of their last 6 visits there and the Cityzens have scored more than a goal in only one of those six games. Marcos Silva’s men have visited Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United before this game and would feel that they can get a point here.

Wolves’ honeymoon phase is over and they have now entered the harsh realities of Premier League life for a team that has just been promoted to the English top flight. After an impressive start to Premier League life, the Mindlands club has now collected just only a point from the last 18 that was made available to them. They were beaten 2-1 by Cardiff City in their last league game despite taking the lead. That loss was perhaps the clearest indication that they are in trouble at the moment. They would now face Chelsea who recovered well from their loss to Tottenham by beating both PAOK and Fulham to nil, and it looks like another defeat may be on the cards for Wolves here. Chelsea’s loss to Tottenham can be attributed to having a bad day and they would be looking to go into their weekend game against Manchester City having secured a win at Molineux here. Chelsea have won 10 of their last 11 matches against Wolves, eight of those 10 victories were with a clean sheet for the Blues.
