Dynamo Zagreb have won all their games in this competition so far and they would be looking to keep that run going here. However, the hosts need just a point to secure qualification to the next round, so they would be confident that they can achieve that on their home turf heading into this game. The Home side have had more joy playing at home in this competition so far as they have scored 4 times and conceded none. The visitors would feel they have no reason to go all out for the win especially as they would be playing their last group game at home. Dynamo Zagreb need just a point to secure top spot as they have already qualified for the next round. They can afford to field a weaker team or play at low intensity, however, we expect them to know that in football, the job is not done until it is well and truly done. Zagreb have showed that they are the best team in this group as they have beaten all comers in this group and if they maintain that level of competitiveness, then they might end this game as winners again. This will be just the second renewal of this fixture. When the teams met earlier in the campaign, Dinamo won by four goals to one.

Celtic earned an impressive win in their last Europa League game against RB Leipzig and they would be looking to build on that here. The Hoops would have been eliminated from Europe if they had lost to the impressive Germans but they dug deep and earned a deserved 2-1 win. The Scottish champions have been  unbeaten since that game and faced tough games on artificial turf against Livingston and Hamilton, yet they came out tops. They would be back on grass for this game and their fans would be expecting them to continue their impressive head to head record against their Norwegian hosts. Rosenborg have suffered a hit to their confidence since they were beaten 5-2 by RB Salzburg at home in their last Europa League game. They were on a three games winning run before that match but they have scored just a goal and won only one match in the two games that followed that defeat. It is also not good reading to say that their opponents in these games have been outside the Norwegian top ten, so they would need to get their confidence up to get a result here.  

Spartak Moscow are seriously underachieving this season by the standards they have set for themselves over the past two seasons. Having finished last season in the third position, they were expected to be challenging the likes of Zenith and CSKA Moscow for the Russian league title this season, however, they come into this game in the 7th position in Russia and have just two wins from their last 8 games in all competitions. They were dumped out of the Champions League in the qualifying round and have been dismal in their Europa League group campaign so far. They have collected just two points from 9 that has been made available to them, but one of those points came away at Rangers in their last Matchday, so they would be eager to do better here again. Rangers have done well on their return to European football thanks to some good management of average players by Steven Gerard. The former Liverpool man helped them navigate the difficult qualifying rounds, and has placed them within 5 points of the Scottish league title with a game in hand. They were beaten by Aberdeen at the League Cup semifinals a couple of games back, but that was their first loss in 8 games. They have also saved their best performances for this competition and they could get all three points here again.

Lazio were on a 3 games winning streak before they were trashed 3-0 by Inter Milan last week, but they showed enough character to bounce back from that with a 4-1 win over SPAL in their very next game. They have the luxury of playing an in-form Ciro Immobile and they would be hoping he can fire them to victory against Marseille. Lazio are impressing greatly in the final third and this game offers them the chance to challenge for the top spot with Eintracht Frankfurt, so a win in this game would offer them very important three points. Marseille are in dire need of the points in this game. They were beaten by Lazio at home 3-1 two weeks back, and they have also lost to PSG 0-2, and Montpellier 3-0 before this fixture, so they would be the least confident side ahead of this game. Their defensive problems has become their Achilles heels this season and if they don’t fix it, they risk losing this game and exiting the Europa League at the group stage.

Chelsea head into this game hoping to keep their unbeaten season intact as they also look to make progress in the Europa League. The Blues hosted the Belarusians 2 weeks ago, and their win on that night started a 4 games winning streak which includes wins over Burnley, Derby County, and Crystal Palace. Maurizio Sarri now has a team of in-formed attackers to choose from and he would be expecting to get another win here. BATE couldn’t cope with Chelsea’s firepower when they visited London just two weeks back. Ruben Loftus-Cheek was on fire and he scored a hattrick against them. The Belarusians have since won three local games in a row, but that would hardly prepare them for a game against a team of Chelsea’s quality. They are currently neck and neck with the other two teams in the group and they would be looking to get a point here to prove that they can qualify as the second best team in the group.

Sporting Lisbon and Arsenal come into this game knowing that the winner of this game would have the upper hand in the race to top their group in this competition. The other two group member were never going to make it beyond the group stages with these two teams as their opponents. Sporting started their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 home win over Qarabag. They followed that up with a 2-1 win over Vorskla to keep them level on points with the Gunners. While they have a good set of results in Europe, they have been struggling in their domestic league. They are currently 5th on the Portuguese league table having collected 7 points less from their opening 8 games this season. They have, however, had a fine run of results at home as they have won all 5 competitive games at home, so they would be prepared to give the Gunners a run for their money here. Arsenal have been unplayable for much of this season as they continue to flourish under the tutelage of Unai Emery. The Gunners beat Leicester City 3-1 on Monday to make it ten wins on the bounce in all competitions. They have also scored an impressive 30 goals in that period of time and their fans have begun dreaming about winning a trophy this season. The Gunners are, however, vulnerable at the back. They have kept just 3 clean sheets from their 12 competitive games this season, and they are facing a Sporting Lisbon team that hasn’t failed to score at home in the Europa League since 2015.

Celtic travel to one of the biggest games they would play in the group stages of the Europa League when they face RB Leipzig in Germany for this one. The Hoops have started their season slowly and things could get worse before they begin to hit their stride again. After winning their first group game at home, they travelled to Austria for their second group game and allowed a 1 goal lead to slip through them as they ended the game 3-1 losers to RB Salzburg. Celtic dominated their first group game against Rosenborg, but just like they were against Salzburg, they would be underdogs in this game, and if they get an unlikely away win, it would do more for their confidence than any result has done for them this season. Celtic are going to be facing a Leipzig team that is very much on form. The Germans have been beaten only once in their last 9 home games, and they head into this game having won 4 and drawn two of their last 6 games. Their last match against Augsburg saw them record 18 shots on target against their opponents who couldn’t record any. Although they couldn’t get a goal at the weekend, they can get a couple against this Celtic team. The Germans have been banging in the goals for much of this season as they have already netted 23 times prior to their weekend match. They are currently 5th on the league table, but 2 points separate them from the second position having lost just a league game this season. This is the first time these teams are meeting in competitive football.

Chelsea would be looking to get over their 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United at the weekend when they take on BATE in this game. The Blues have been flying high this season as they remain unbeaten in all competitions, however, they have scored just two goals in their opening two group games in this competition so far. They almost drew their last game against Vidi who are considered the poorest teams in the group, but they should do better in this game as they welcome a Belarusian side who hasn’t won an away game in European group stage competition just yet. The Blues have dropped points against West Ham, Liverpool, and Manchester United, but overall, they have been good value for winning games with 9 wins from 12 games so far. BATE fans won’t be too optimistic of their side’s chances when they take to the field for this game. They managed to beat Vidi away in their first group game, but they suffered a humiliating 4-1 loss at home to PAOK, they would be hoping that Eden Hazard is not in a lethal form in this game. BATE’s win away to Vidi was their first in 13 away days in major European competition too (excluding qualifying matches), and away from home in the Europa League, they have lost 5 of their last 9. This includes a 6-0 demolition at The Emirates last season, which was preceded by a 5-2 loss at Koln just a month before.
