Bayern Munich have made a breakthrough in transferring João Palhinha from Fulham, as both clubs have agreed to a €50m deal plus €5m in potential add-ons. This report is according to journalist Fabrizio Romano who has reported this story from the start and has now confirmed the deal. For Fulham, moving Palhinha to Bayern would be a club transfer record according to Sky news and would be a sizable amount of money for them entering a new Premier League season. Romano said on Twitter:  “Palhinha will sign a contract until 2028 at Bayern, he’s been pushing for weeks for the deal to happen. Medical to be booked then docs to be signed. Story confirmed.”  Palhinha is currently representing Portugal at the Euros but has not registered a goal or assist despite his team reaching the Quarter Final. He secured 4 goals and 1 assist last campaign and will most likely act as holding midfielder for Bayern. Many believe that the Portugal national is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world with his strength, passing and switching of play being perfect for a Munich team that struggles with possession.

Bayern Munich have not given up their interest in Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.  Fulham have already gotten a first offer from Bayern for the Portugal player. According to BILD, Bayern are expected to make another bid for him. The German side intend to now propose €46m; plus bonuses, but it is not clear if this sum is enough. Fulham set a price tag of €70m to sell Palhinha ahead of next season.  The midfielder’s contract with the English club will run until summer of 2028, with an option for an extra year.

Former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is glad to see Nuri Sahin take over Borussia Dortmund.  The ex BVB and Liverpool midfielder has been named new coach after Edin Terzic surprisingly resigned.  Klopp, who left Dortmund for Liverpool nine years ago, told BILD: “At 35, Nuri is a very young coach, but so was I. “I definitely believe that after his outstanding career as a player, he will also become a super coach. “Of course, I wish him the greatest success at BVB.”

Tottenham is in danger of losing the signature of Stuttgart defender Hiroki Ito. The Japan national is on the radar for Spurs this summer. However, Sky Deutschland reports that Bayern Munich are also working hard to bring in Ito.  Bayern are ready to activate the 25-year-old’s buyout clause – which is set for €30m. And Ito is said to be eager to join Bayern Munich in the coming weeks. 

Burnley were relegated from the Premier League in the first term after they were promoted. Kompany could not keep them in the top flight, but has joined Bayern Munich in Germany. “It starts with a message of thanks, of course. I was very lucky; I was surrounded by hard-working people, players who gave everything,” he said on Instagram. “And I felt privileged and honoured to be welcomed, and to be part of such a good environment – so for that, thank you. “The best way to describe how I lived it is that I think I gave everything back. “(The) best memory I had was beating Blackburn at home 3-0 and then going and beating them at their home and winning the league there – that was good. I loved every moment at the club – it’s been a very important part of my life. ”

A few clubs are reported to be observing Oleksandr Zinchenko closely this summer. The Arsenal left-back is one of the players that German side Bayern Munich are targeting. Bayern’s manager Vincent Kompany is familiar with Zinchenko from the Premier League. The Ukraine player could leave the Gunners, according to reports from The Mirror, as he wants to play regular football.  If Munich lose Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid, which seems likely, they will get a replacement. Zinchenko could be that player, as his top-notch passing would fit into Kompany’s attacking management style. 

Borussia Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl has refused to forego interest in Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.  Greenwood has been tied with Dortmund after a season-long loan with Getafe where he has just been named Player of the Year. At yesterday’s Champions League final media day, Kehl said: “I don’t want to talk about any rumours now at the moment because it makes no sense. Let’s play that final on Saturday. “Of course we do have our plans for the next season and of course we discuss many scenarios, but nothing for today. Let’s focus, let’s anticipate that match on Saturday and then we’ll see how we move on. “ Asked if Greenwood is of interest to Borussia, he said, “I don’t want to talk about that now.”

Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic has admitted that Jadon Sancho wants to play for England again. The German giants are getting ready for the Champions League final on Saturday against Real Madrid. The game may be Sancho’s last in Dortmund, as his loan from Manchester United expires. Terzic, while hosting a press conference on Wednesday, said; “I think you can see that he is very happy with us, with the group. “To be honest, I didn’t speak to him about the English national team. This is one of his personal targets [to get a call-up] and I am quite sure that he would love to be involved with the national team. “Also, from my point of view, I also think that he deserves to be involved with the national team of England. “

Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness is not impressed by the appointment of Vincent Kompany.  The Burnley manager will be named Bayern coach this week, although many members of the board had wanted Hansi Flick to return. “There was – let’s say – discontent in the last few days. The top bosses, including Uli Hoeness, once again supported Hansi Flick,” reports Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg. The former Bayern coach, who won the sextuple with the record champions, was close to signing a contract with FC Barcelona. Sporting director Max Eberl stepped in at that point and pushed through for Kompany to be appointed. It is unclear if Hoeness was convinced with facts or just outvoted.

Real Madrid have reneged on signing Bayern Munich wing-back Alphonso Davies. Davies seemed ready to join Spanish club Real Madrid this summer.  But Cadena COPE reported that Madrid have decided to not sign him. The Spanish giants instead decided to invest in left-back Miguel Gutiérrez. Gutiérrez is with rivals Girona, but Madrid have a plan to buy him back. They want to use this plan and then revisit signing Davies when he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2025.
