Crystal Palace are looking for a new centre-half in the German Bundesliga, with other clubs showing interest in Guehi.  With captain Marc Guehi the subject of interest from clubs like Newcastle United, Palace are now searching for a replacement.  Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou and VFL Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix are both on the Palace’s radar.  Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports: “Understand Crystal Palace are considering Odilon Kossounou as well as Maxence Lacroix as centre back options. “It all depends on Marc Guehi exit with Newcastle set to bid again soon.”

Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs and Noussair are in Manchester today.  Bayern have received an offer on behalf of centre-half De Ligt and fullback Mazraoui. They are now scheduled for their medicals in Manchester and will sign United contracts this afternoon.  Matthijs and Noussair will join the Red Devils for a combined fee of £60m.

Borussia Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl has admitted that the future of Niclas Füllkrug will be determined this weekend.  Dortmund has reportedly accepted an offer from West Ham for Füllkrug. Kehl said, “The events of the last few days have been a bit out of control. To be honest, it was not our intention to bring up the Niclas Füllkrug issue again.” “That,” explains Kehl, “has developed very quickly in the last two days, also through many discussions that we of course had with the player.” Now we will see “what happens today and tomorrow”.

Manchester United are serious about acquiring Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt this summer. This is after their deal with Yoro fell apart. The Red Devils have been licking their wounds after learning that their new signee Leny Yoro is out for several months with a foot injury. As a replacement, they want to sign De Ligt from Bayern to play next to Lisandro Martinez when the season begins.  According to The Mirror, United are ready to take their interest in De Ligt to the next level this week.  Manchester are hoping to get a deal concluded, to lessen the devastating effect of Yoro being absent. Bayern is also looking to sell De Ligt.   De Ligt, who was a substitute for Netherlands at Euro 2024, wants to make the move. 

Borussia Dortmund have increased their offer for Manchester City fullback Yan Couto. Dortmund bid €20 million for Couto which the Citizens turned down in midweek. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that BVB came back with a new €25 million offer. City is now close to accepting the amount for Yan. On his own part, Yan finalised terms with BVB some weeks ago. He spent last season on-loan with Girona. 

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer shattered two England records in The Three Lion’s Euros final loss to Spain. Palmer was a substitute in the second-half and scored the equaliser in the 2-1 defeat in Berlin on Sunday. The midfielder just needed 142 seconds to score a goal for England, which is the fastest goal ever by an English substitute, according to OptaJoe. Palmer also broke a second record in the finals, by becoming the youngest substitute to score for England in a final. La Roja won in 86 minutes, thanks to Mikel Oyarzabal’s goals.

Borussia Dortmund are meeting with Manchester City for fullback Yan Couto. According to Sky Deutschland, Dortmund have reached an agreement with Couto on personal terms. BVB are now discussing with the Citizens about a fee for the Brazilian international. But, the clubs are yet to agree on a price for Couto. The right-back was on loan last season with Girona, where he helped the Spanish side qualify for this campaign’s Champions League.  Couto’s contract with Manchester will expire in less than a year.

Liverpool are considering a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.  The German national has been listed for transfer by Bayern this summer. Reds manager Arne Slot is a fan and is convinced that he can help Goretzka return to his best form.  According to BILD’s Lukas Fisher: “EXCL: Liverpool are looking at Leon Goretzka as a reinforcement for their midfield. Arne Slot believes he can rejuvenate his career. FCB open to the move. “The deal will have to be a loan with an option to buy. “LFC have to pay most of the salary and a small loan fee.”

Bayern Munich are jeopardising Barcelona’s plans to buy Nico Williams. Barcelona president Joan Laporta announced on Sunday that they “can afford to sign the Athletic Bilbao winger.  Willams’ contract has a €58m buyout clause. And Marca reports that Bayern are also interested and ready to pay his option. For Williams, he is said to prefer Barca if he is to leave Athletic this summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund have added Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to their list of potential midfielders. Dortmund are eager to strengthen their central areas, with the Tottenham player to become a viable option if they cannot get Brighton’s Pascal Gross. Højbjerg will take time to reflect on Denmark’s elimination from the Euros at the hands of Germany and might then weigh his options in the future. The Danish midfielder wants to leave Hotspurs in the summer after Ange Postecoglou downgraded his role last campaign. There were some transfer rumours surrounding Højbjerg last summer and in January too. Although, the Spurs held on to him, especially during the winter window. They may have to sell him in this window, as he wants to become important again. Atletico Madrid and Lyon were considered new homes for the midfielder, and now he is on Dortmund’s radar. They want to recruit someone in the central zones and see Højbjerg as a huge alternative to Gross. Højbjerg might be a good option for them, especially since he is at his peak, and despite limited starts, he was consistent last season. But, Dortmund has to make him a mouthwatering offer, as there are many teams who want him.
