Betting On Everton Everton finally made their mark in the win column of the EPL standings, when they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 last weekend, after a long and frustrating opening five games. In an abysmal first-half performance, the hosts trailed 1-0, but Dwight McNeil’s quick brace after the interval turned the match around, handing them their first come-from-behind win since October 2022.  The Toffees have now left bottom three for the frist time this campaign, but they could go back there before the international break if they go home empty-handed here. Another match at Goodison Park should help them in their quest for another vicotry, ast they have won six of their last eight in this venue. Everton also has more EPL points at hom than any club since April.  Betting On Newcastle  Since Eddie Howie arrived, Newcastle United have won 4-1 against Everton, but took two losses either side, first to a 10-man Toffees courtesy of a 99th-minute strike from Alex Iwobi in 2022, before losing 3-0 again last campaign, with all the goals entering in the final 10 minutes.  Before last season, Newcastle had won five of their previous six against Everton, but they only took one point from the Toffees last term. This was from Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s late penalty that got them a point in the last meeting between both clubs in April. The guests are 7th, level on points with Fulham, who have also had a great start.  MatchPlug Prediction For Everton VS Newcastle  Both clubs have been playing well, especially in the last third, but just one side has the points to prove it, and that is Newcastle. Branthwaite missing will affect Everton greatly, as they have shown that they can’t win without him, so the guests will be the favourites to win, despit top scorer Isak absent. Final Prediction: Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur disgrace Manchester United at Old Trafford as Fernandes sees red

Tottenham thrashed Manchester United at Old Trafford 3-0 on Sunday to mount pressure on their manager Erik ten Hag. United were outplayed and outpaced in their worst performance of the year as Spurs tore them to pieces.  Hotspur took the lead on three minutes as Micky van de Ven stripped United’s defence before crossing for Brennan Johnson to drive home at the far post.  For the next 25 minutes, Spurs dominated with just Andre Onana in United’s goal standing between them and a cricket score.  Around 42 minutes, things turned sore for United when captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a late challenge on James Maddison. He slipped before catching Maddison and was given a red card by referee Chris Kavanaugh.  The Red Devils were hoping to regroup after halftime, but fell further behind early in the second-half as Dejan Kulusevski converted a deflected cross from Johnson after a long run.  By this time, it became clear Tottenham would be taking home the points and the result was sealed with a third goal, as Dominic Solanke sent home a kick from Pape Sarr from a corner on 77 minutes.  The result sees Spurs advance to eighth position on the table, with United now in 12th place.

madrid debry paused as atletico fans throw objects onto pitch

Madrid derby suspended as Atletico Madrid fans throw objects onto pitch

The match between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid was paused because of chaos erupting in the standings, as supporters threw multiple items onto the pitch. The referee suspended the Madrid derby midway through the second half after Atletico fans started throwing items onto the pitch. Real was leading through Eder Militao in the 64th minute, and items were thrown from behind Thibaut Courtois’ goal, before Atletico players, including Koke, and manager Diego Simeone appealed for peace.  Real’s players were apparently happy to keep playing, but the referee, in accordance with La Liga’s protocols, decided to take the players off. Blancos goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was spotted clearing objects from his area, including a lighter that he gave to officials.  Both Simeone and Koke tried calming fans on both sides down, heading behind Courtois’ goal post to speak to them directly. After a break in play for 20 minutes, the game was finally continued.

Henderson fight with Ajax teammate in Europa League victory

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was removed from a heated argument with Ajax teammate Bertrand Traore. They were involved in an exchange amid their club’s dominant play against Besiktas. In the first game of their Europa League journey, Ajax hosted the Turkish team. The Dutch giant scored a 4-0 victory, starting off their optimistic path to the final in style.  However, emotions ran high in the second half when Traore conceded the ball in a dangerous area, leading to a clash with Henderson.  “There are many areas we can improve on. Hopefully, we can show that tomorrow (Thursday). It’s already a challenge to demonstrate this,” Henderson had said before the match. “With small details, we could have done better in Deventer, like winning second balls and winning duels in general. There are more matches now. Especially for players who also compete internationally, the schedule is packed. It’s a lot when you think about it.”

chelsea really like benfica star tomas araujo

Chelsea “really like’’ Benfica star Tomas Araujo, as Fabrizio Romano discloses transfer plans

Chelsea have picked Benfica centre-back Tomas Araujo as one of their top targets ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports. The Blues are eager to strengthen their defensive options and asked questions about Araujo’s availability over the summer, but Benfica were unwilling to let him go.  But Chelsea have not given up on signing the 22-year-old talent, who started four out of his team’s six league matches so far this campaign.  Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea want to sign a new centre-back in January and Araujo is at the top of their list. They also want RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba.  “Another player being linked with Chelsea is RB Leipzig’s talented centre-back Castello Lukeba. The 21-year-old is one of the most talented young defenders in Europe, for sure, and he’s been linked with some French clubs as well as with Chelsea, but what I can for the moment is that there is no concrete negotiation and no concrete talks taking place,” Romano wrote on his Daily Briefing Column.  “Leipzig recently sold Mohamed Simakan, so for another key defender to move on it would have to be a crazy proposal. Chelsea are following many centre-backs, so Lukeba is one of many players they’ve been monitoring, which is absolutely normal, just like with Tomas Araujo at Benfica. “Araujo in particular is a player Chelsea really like, and they tried for him in the final weeks of the summer transfer window. At that time, Benfica didn’t want to sell the player, but he remains someone on Chelsea’s radar, and they are also scouting Lukeba, but at this moment it’s too early to predict where he’s going.”

Cole says Bynoe-Gittens could emulate Bellingham’s footsteps after Dortmund brace

Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is on the road to greatness, Chelsea legend Joe Cole says. The former Manchester City player scored twice as the German club swept Club Brugge in a 3-0 victory which got them three points in the new Champions League format.  Bynoe-Gittens now has four goals in five matches this campaign which has caused people to compare him to English footballers like Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham who have walked the same path.  Cole shared his opinion into the young English star’s growth at Borussia and why so many other talents want to move to the club.  “Talking to people out in Germany, they want to take the best young players in England, take them out, there’s a pathway.  “Imagine the best 16-year-old in the country now, he’s thinking: ‘Should I sign for Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City? Borussia Dortmund is on the table – well, that’s interesting’. “He’ll think (Jadon) Sancho, think Bellingham, (Bynoe-) Gittens, it’s a pathway they offer. What we think Celtic should do and what Brugge are trying to do, Borussia Dortmund are already on that next level. They’re managing to do that and also compete, which is incredible. That’s off the back of doing it for so long.”

Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois takes shot at Atletico fans for ‘rat derby’

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has taken another shot at Atletico Madrid fans ahead of tonight’s derby.  In the “rat derby’’, on February 9, 2019, several red-and-white fans put stuffed rats on Courtois’ plaque on the ‘legends’ walk at the Metropolitano stadium.  “I understand that seeing me play with the rival can hurt, but at times they went too far,” said Courtois. The rats on the plaque were then taken to the stands with large throwing of objects at his goal amid insults, whistles, and expressions of contempt.  Atletico will host their former player and Real Madrid later tonight in the season’s first Madrid derby.
