A few months ago it appeared as though Manchester City would win the impressive quadruple under Pep Guardiola. However, things have changed so much that except a miraculous result in this match, the best they can get would be a league and Carabao Cup double. The Cityzens were overwhelmed by Liverpool in the first leg of this match and the Reds raced to a 3-0 lead before 4o minutes.
At the weekend, Pep Guardiola’s men suffered another defeat against Manchester United, this time at home. They raced to a 2-0 but a defensive collapse saw them lose the game 3-2 to the Red Devils. Liverpool meanwhile drew at Everton after a much-changed side struggled to break down the Toffees but they still managed to remain unbeaten against the Blues, 17 games gone now.
Liverpool have scored at least 2 goals in 11 of their last 14 away games in all competitions and that would worry Pep Guardiola as he knows a Liverpool away goal would require them to score at least 5 goals. The Reds have not lost any game by more than 1 goal since October last year, and they have won seven of their last ten games, losing just once and scoring 24 goals in that time.
Barcelona would be happy to have the first leg of this game by 4-1 as they play Valencia at the weekend and would not want to over-exert themselves in this game.
They needed two own goals to open the scoring at Camp Nou but they would not mind as long as it brought them the win.
Roma failed to recover from their loss to Barcelona in the first leg and they went on to lose their very next game 2-0 at home to Fiorentina. They play SS Lazio next after this game and they would be looking to get a good result here to keep their spirit up before that derby.
Barcelona won their next match at the weekend 3-1 against Leganes and they would be in the best of spirit especially with Lionel Messi back. They are now unbeaten in their last 19 games since they lost to Espanyol in Copa Del Rey.
Barca have not lost a Champions League game since they lost to Juventus last season.
Roma have kept four clean sheets at home this season and all but one of their home Champions League games have ended in under 2.5 goals. Barcelona have also seen less than 2.5 goals scored in all of their away Champions League games this season.

Liverpool should be prepared for another battle to keep hold of one of their star players next summer according to reports online.
The Reds lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in the January transfer window after it became clear that the Brazilian preferred a move to Catalonia.
He left for a record fee but also left a huge void in Liverpool’s attacking midfield and they are yet to replace him.
However, while they plan for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, they might as well start planning to replace Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian has entered the radar of PSG.
According to Sun Sport, the French side are looking to sign Salah as a replacement for Edison Cavani who has netted 35 goals this season already.
Cavani is a target for big clubs and looks unsettled in the French.
Jurgen Klopp has said that none of his stars would be sold, and he is even ready to spend 80 million pounds on Timo Werner when the new transfer window opens. However, we all know Liverpool are a selling club and it would be interesting to see if the Reds would reject the temptation to accept a big money offer for the Egyptian.
RB Leipzig head into this game in confidence mood after their 1-0 win over Olympique Marseille in the Europa League on Thursday.
That win meant they have been unbeaten in their past 7 games, winning 4 of them. Although they would have their eyes on the return leg of their Europa League match, it is unlikely that they would rest their star men for this game as a victory here would go a long way in helping their quest for Champions League football next season.
They also have just 3 points more than their visitors.
Bayer Leverkusen have failed to score in consecutive Bundesliga games this season after their 0-0 draw against Augsburg the last time out. They would know that this is a game that they have to win if they are serious about finishing inside the top four at the end of this season. Lucas Alario is still suspended for this game, so Kevin Volland who is without a goal for the last 9 games would be tasked with helping with the goals here again.
This game looks almost certain to be a home win because Leipzig tend to play at their very best whenever they host a side inside the top six.
They have won 3 and drawn 1 of their last 4 home games against the top six including coming from behind to beat Bayern Munich the last time out.

Manchester United flop, Luke Shaw is a target for Spanish giants, Barcelona as the Catalans look to add one more English men to their team sheet.
The La Liga champions-elect are currently planning for a summer swoop for Atletico Madrid’s forward, Antoine Griezmann and they have reportedly allocated funds for the transfer of the French man as well as continued payments for Philippe Coutinho’s transfer from Liverpool.
According to Sun Sport, the Catalans have also added Luke Shaw to their summer transfer wishlist and incredibly, the left back is close to the top of that list.
Shaw signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2014 after he was named in the PFA Team of the Year for that season, he started slowly but picked some form in his second season only to see his campaign end with a horrific leg break that left him sidelined for a long time.
When he recovered from that injury he was now under the management of Jose Mourinho, but he has failed to impress the former Chelsea boss so far and their relationship seems to be at an all-time low at the moment.
Barcelona would have love to sign him permanently, but their interest in Griezmann and continued payment of Philippe Coutinho’s transfer fee means they would have to settle for an initial loan agreement.
This game is one that the fans of Manchester City have been waiting for a long time now as they could potentially win the Premier League title with a win here.
Their 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday would have affected their confidence and Pep Guardiola would have his mind on reversing that scoreline on Tuesday that may see a much-changed line up here.
They have lost just once all season and have 7 wins from their last 8 Premier League games, they have won all but one of their last 15 home games, beating the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal.
Manchester United would be looking to delay Manchester City’s title celebration in this game. They are currently 2nd on the league table with a huge 16 points gap between them and they are just two points ahead of Liverpool who are 3rd.
Their 2-0 win over Swansea made it 4 wins on the bounce for them in the Premier League.
They have, however, struggled away to the top sides having been beaten at both Spurs and Chelsea while drawing at Liverpool.
