Real Madrid are planning a stunning swoop on Tottenham star Harry Kane next summer. The England attacker is officially the most prolific striker in Europe for the year 2017 and has already scored 28 goals in 28 competitive games this season. Los Blancos are struggling to defend their La Liga title and are currently 19 points behind Barcelona on the league table. Their major problem seems to be a lack of goals and they have been linked with some of Europe’s best attackers this season. Reports in Spain are claiming that Florentino Perez wants to make Kane the next Galactico. Perez understands it would be difficult to sign Kane from Spurs, but he has a good relationship with the Lilywhites following the transfer of Gareth Bale in 2013. The report further claims that Mauricio Pochettino is being lined up as a replacement for Zinedine Zidane. Zidane started his Real Madrid’s managerial career by winning two consecutive Champions League trophies, but his team are at risk of not qualifying for next season’s competition except they can win it again this season. Pochettino has refused to rule out taking over at the Bernabeu, claiming that he would go where football leads him as far as his career is concerned.

Arsenal’s move for Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is edging closer as the Gabonese father who is also his agent has landed in London to discuss personal terms with the Gunners. Aubameyang ran into more disciplinary problems at the weekend when he skipped an important team meeting and was dropped for their game against Wolfsburg. This latest episode of ill-discipline seems to be the final straw as his club’s president admitted that there is a limit to what they can tolerate. Arsenal have agreed to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United this month, but they want to have a replacement in place first before selling off the Chilean. Manchester United have offered them Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but they want an attacker who is capable of replacing the goals that Sanchez’s departure would take away from the team. Bordeaux’s Malcom is also expected to make the switch this month if Mkhitaryan decided against being used as a sweetener in the Sanchez deal. Aubameyang has netted 21 goals in 23 games for Borussia Dortmund already this season. Dortmund would sign Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi as his replacement.

West Brom offer Johnny Evans to Manchester City for £23.5 million

Manchester City have been told they can have West Brom captain Johnnny Evans for £23.5 million this week. The Baggies have been reluctant to sell the Manchester United graduates for a long time now, but his reluctance to sign a new deal has left them with no other choice than to sell. Arsenal are also interested in signing Evans, but he prefers to move to the northeast where his family still stays. He scored one of the goals as West Brom won for the first time in 20 top-flight games against Brighton last weekend, and Alan Pardew was hoping he would remain with them until the end of this season. He joined West Brom from Manchester United for less than £10 million in the summer of 2015, and the Red Devils are believed to also be interested in signing him. Although the asking price looks good in light of the current transfer market, Manchester City would be looking to bring down the price to less than £20 million. After suffering their first loss of the season at Liverpool last weekend, Pep Guardiola is expected to make a few quick signings and Evans could be on his way to the Etihad Stadium this week.

Alexis Sanchez has agreed to join Manchester United in a stunning four-and-half year deal worth £118 million. The Chilean has just six months left on his current Arsenal deal, and he has been holding out for a weekly wage of £350,000 per week from the Gunners to renew his current deal. However, Arsene Wenger’s side failed to offer him that much which opened the door on a summer switch elsewhere. The Gunners rejected a £60 million offer from Manchester City on deadline day in the last transfer window, but Wenger knows if he denies Sanchez the chance to join Manchester United this time, he could be left to deal with a very unhappy player. The Gunners want to sign a replacement before allowing Sanchez leave and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as well Bordeaux’s Malcom have been touted as possible in-comings this month. Jose Mourinho hopes to get the transfer done before noon of 18th January so that the Chilean can face Burnley on Saturday. The Red Devils are ready to offer flop Henrikh Mkhitaryan in exchange for Sanchez, but the Armenian’s reluctance to be used as part of the deal could see Manchester United pay £35 million for the signature of Sanchez.

Jose Mourinho demands Manchester United board keep Marouane Fellaini at all cost

Jose Mourinho has asked Manchester United’s board to stop at nothing to keep Marouane Fellaini at Old Trafford beyond this season. The big Belgian’s contract expires after this season, but Jose Mourinho sees him as an important squad member. However, Fellaini feels undervalued in England and has told Mourinho he is looking for a new challenge. The club has offered him a new two years contract worth the same £120,000 per week he currently earns with the option of an additional year, but the Belgian is not interested in signing. Fellaini was the first player to join Manchester United after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, but he was one of the players who were trusted by David Moyes in the Scots man’s ill-fated spell, and the fans never appreciated him. Last season was the first time he really enjoyed his Old Trafford career as Jose Mourinho used him for a total of 47 times in all competitions and they won the Community Shield and Europa League. There is a shortage of takers around Europe at the moment, but a move to China has also been muted. Fellaini wants to keep his option open right until the end of the season.

West Ham want Michy Batshuayi in return for Andy Carroll if Chelsea make their move for England striker this month. Chelsea are looking for an alternative striker to share the goalscoring burden with Alvaro Morata and they have identified Carroll as one that would provide a different style to their game. The Blues were interested in signing another big attacker last summer and thought they had clinched a deal for Swansea’s Fernando Llorente, but the Spaniard decided against joining them and moved to Tottenham instead. Alvaro Morata has scored 10 Premier League goals this season but has just 5 goals in his last 22 appearances for the Blues. Antonio Conte wants a new attacker to help take the limelight off the Spaniard at least for a period of time. Batshuayi has failed to impress the Italian so far and looks to be on his way out. Sevilla are confident that they would sign the Belgian this month, but West Ham could spoil their move. The Hammers do not want to be left short of options if Carroll joins the Blues and have asked for Batshuayi in return. Chelsea want Carroll on an initial loan deal, but with this condition, they would have to make the move a permanent one.

Ronaldinho officially retires from football at the age of 37

Barcelona legend Ronaldinho has officially called it quits on his footballing career at the age of 37. The Brazilian legend was a joy to watch in his playing days and delighted many fans with his outrageous skills and infectious smile. He moved to PSG from Brazilian side Gremio in 2001, then decided against joining Manchester United to move to Barcelona after the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan. He helped Barcelona win the 2006 Champions League by beating Arsenal in the final, and made himself a hero in Camp Nou over the course of his time there. He fell out of favor with Pep Guardiola in 2009 and moved to AC Milan. He won the Serie A with the Rossoneri in 2010/2011 season. However, he has not played for any professional club since he left Fluminense in 2015. His brother who is also his agent, Roberto Assis disclosed the news of his retirement to the Brazilian press. He claimed that activities have been lined up to celebrate his career and events would take off across the continents of the world after the World Cup in Russia later this year. He also confirmed that Nike would be heavily involved in sponsoring his farewell events.

Bournemouth join race to sign Theo Walcott

Theo Walcot is set to leave Arsenal this month as several teams continue to show interest in signing him. Sun Sport is reporting that Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth is the latest team to show interest in his signature. The 28 years old has been left frustrated by a lack of trust from Arsene Wenger this season, and he looks set to leave the Emirates after 12 years. His former team Southampton and Sam Allardyce’s Everton are the frontrunners for his signature at the moment. Arsenal are looking to make at least £20 million from his transfer as they look to bring in new players. Howe whose Bournemouth defeated the Gunners at the weekend has joined the race as he looks to help his Cherries avoid relegation. Arsenal and Bournemouth have a good relationship after Jack Wilshere spent last season on-loan at the Vitality Stadium, but the final decision on where his future would be lies in the hands of Walcot. The England international is hoping to go to this year’s World Cup in Russia and wants a guarantee of more playing time. A move to Southampton would be an emotional one for him as he left the Saints as a 16 years old teenager in 2006, but he would prefer to remain closer to London. Walcot is expected to decide which club he would move to before the end of this week.

Liverpool are set to make a sensational move for Atletico Madrid shot-stopper, Jan Oblak next summer. The Reds goalkeepers have come under numerous criticisms for the past few seasons. Loris Karius was given the nod ahead of Simon Mignolet, but the German still failed to impress as he let in a cheap goal for the equalizer. Although Jurgen Klopp has continually backed his underfire goalkeepers, he is reportedly set to axe at least one of them this season. According to Sun Sport, Oblak has a £89 million release clause written into his current deal with Atletico, but the Reds would be looking to negotiate a more realistic figure. The 25 years old is one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in the world at the moment, and Liverpool faces major competition from PSG for his signature. The Slovenian who joined Atleti from Benfica in 2014 recently admitted that talks of a new deal has not started yet, and did not say if he is open to leaving the Wanda Metropolitana. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has admitted that the Red’s goalkeepers are not good enough and believes they cannot win the Premier League with Simon Mignolet as their first choice.

Arsenal are looking to complete the signing of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang this month. The Gunners are set to let Alexis Sanchez leave in the next couple of days with Chelsea and Manchester United looking to prize the Chilean away. Sanchez would likely join United for £30 million plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and the Gunners don’t want to waste time in replacing him. Aubameyang has just run into fresh problems with Dortmund and was left out of their team for their weekend’s match, with the club’s boss claiming “there is a limit to what they can tolerate.” Dortmund were among several teams who wanted to sign Giroud last summer, but the French man decided against leaving the Gunners. However, playing time have been very limited this season and he is keen on leaving to save his World Cup spot. Dortmund want £60 million for Aubameyang but his disciplinary problems mean any team trying to sign him would consider him a high-risk player. Arsene Wenger also wants Malcom from Bourdeaux, but his priority is Aubameyang, and if he gets the Gabonese attacker, he would abandon his pursuit of the Brazilian youngster.
