Barcelona vs Tottenham MatchPlug Match Preview Soccer Prediction and Betting Tips

Tottenham are the second English team who needs a win this midweek to remain in the Champions League. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have put themselves in this situation by being sloppy when they visited Milan and Eindhoven. Their 1-0 win over Inter has given them the chance to even compete for a place in the knockout round, but they would need to beat Barcelona before reaching that goal. Barcelona have already qualified for the knockout stages, but it is unlikely that Lionel Messi and his teammates would want to end their campaign with a defeat in front of their home fans. Spurs have been in fine form heading into this game and their performance in their last game against Leicester City suggest that they are getting ready for this game especially with an in form Dele Ali. They have won all but one of their last 8 matches and that single defeat came at the hands of Arsenal in the North London derby. Barca have won all of their last 4 games the last of which was a derby win over fierce rivals Espanyol, so Enersto Valverde would hope that his men can end their group stage campaign on a high.

Liverpool vs Napoli MatchPlug Match Preview Soccer Prediction and Betting Tips

Liverpool would be looking to avoid starting Thursday in the Europa League as it would affect their bid to win the Premier League title this season. The Reds however, have a major job to do in terms of becoming the first team to beat Napoli in the Champions League this season. They come into this game in fine form domestically, they beat Burnley 3-1 and Bournemouth 4-0 away from home in their last two games. They would be without Joe Gomez for this game, but the presence of their feared front three and the noise from Anfield should help them get a win here by keeping a clear sheet or scoring the needed two clear goals. Napoli have continued to grow despite losing Maurizio Sarri in the summer. The Italians currently top this group as they have remained unbeaten in the Champions League so far. They simply need to avoid defeat by two clear goals and they would qualify for the next round. If they are beaten by Liverpool, then they would need a helping hand from Red Star in Serbia to advance.

Ajax vs Bayern MatchPlug Match Preview Soccer Prediction and Betting Tips

Ajax and Bayern have a storied history in this competition and they both remain heavyweights in their respective leagues, so we can look forward to a very interesting game here. Bayern Munich are currently top of the group with two points, but Ajax are closely following them. A win for the Dutch would send them through as group leaders, while avoiding defeat would be enough for Bayern to end the group stage campaign as  group leaders. Bayern come into this game without a win in Ajax as their results have shown 3 losses and a draw in their last 4 visits to the Amsterdam Arena, they would be looking to change that in this game. The reverse of this game ended in a 1-1 draw and Ajax would feel that they can go one better and get the win here. The Germans have dropped points in only that game in Europe so far and they would hope that there struggles in the Bundesliga doesn’t follow them to this game. Ajax have lost just once all season and that came at the hands of title rivals PSV, so they would be confident of getting a result here.

Serie A Matchday 14 review; Juventus can’t stop winning and Napoli continues to give them a chase

For a long time now the Italian league has been all about Juventus. Last season Maurizio Sarri took his Napoli team close to securing the title but they ultimately fell and Juve won it yet again. Napoli are still hot on the heels of Juve, but the defending champions can’t stop winning, and they ended last weekend 8 points clear at the top. Here is a review of Serie A matches that were played last weekend. SPAL 2 vs. 2 Empoli Despite a double from Jasmine Kurtic, SPAL failed to get the win against an in-form Empoli. The home side took the lead on the 5th minute, but the visitors equalized 19 minutes later and took the lead just before the break. SPAL were reduced to 10 men 4 minutes after the break but they still battled hard to get an equalizer on the 67th minute. Fiorentina 0 vs. 3 Juventus Juventus extended their lead at the top of the league table when they beat Fiorentina in Florence on Saturday. Goals from Rodrigo Bentacur, Giorgio Chiellini and Cristiano Ronaldo were enough to earn them a 13th win in 14 games and send them 8 points clear of Napoli who are their closest challengers. Sampdoria 4 vs. 1 Bologna The evergreen Fabio Quagliarella rolled back the years to score two goals for the home side as they beat Bologna 4-1 at the weekend. Dennis Praet had given the home side the lead before Andrea Poli equalized for the visitors. Quagliarella then scored twice either side of a Gaston Ramirez effort to move Sampdoria 10th on the league table. Milan 2 vs. 1 Parma AC Milan had to come from a goal down to get all three points in this game as they look to finish the season in a Champions League place. The visitors had taken the lead on the 49th minute, but Patrick Crutone struck back for Milan 6 minutes later. Franck kessie completed the comeback with a 71st minute penalty to secure Milan’s 7th win of the season. Frosinone 1 vs. 1 Cagliari Cagliari had to play the final 5 minutes plus added time of this game a man down, but still managed to hold on and share the points. The home side took the lead on the 14th minute, but Diego Farias ensured that the spoils are shared with a 77th minute equalizer. Torino 2 vs. 1 Genoa Two dramatic first half stoppage time goals from Torino helped turned this game on its head as they held their nerves throughout the second half to claim all three points from a losing position. Genoa had taken the lead on the 36th minute through Christian Kouame. Torino refused to go into the break on the losing side. They netted the equalizer on the second minute of the first half added time before scoring another goal from the penalty spot on the 5th minute of first half added time. Sassuolo 0 vs. 0 Udinese Having started the season well, Sassuolo seem to be sliding down the table and they failed to win here again. They were held to a bore draw by Udinese and this results means they start the new week on the 8th position after 14 games. Chievo 1 vs. 1 Lazio Chievo and Lazio played out another draw of the weekend when they met at the Marcantonio Bentegodi. The home side had taken the lead through Sergio Pellissier and looked like they would be running away with all the points with some dogged defending. However, Lazio found a way to break them down after a flurry of attacks in the second half through a Ciro Immobile goal on the 66th minute. Roma 2 vs. 2 Inter Milan Roma and Inter played out a 2-2 draw in arguably the biggest game of the weekend in the Serie A. these teams both have ambitions of winning the league or at least finishing inside the top four at the end of the season. After surviving a barrage of attacks from Roma, Inter took the lead against the run of play on the 37th minute. But Roma equalized after 15 minutes, only for Mauro Icardi to give Inter the lead again on the 66th minute. Aleksandar Kolarov scored a 74th minute penalty to give Roma a share of the points. Roma remain 7th while Inter Milan start the new week 3rd on the league table.   Atalanta 1 vs. 2 Napoli After Juve won their game and pulled 11 points clear at the top of the league table, Napoli needed to win at Atalanta to keep the pressure on the defending champions. Carlo Ancelotti’s men took the lead just after 2 minutes, but the home side drew level 54 minutes later. The Naples based side then scored an 85th minute goal that proved to be the winner through Arkadiusz Milik. Juventus look set to win the Italian league again, next up for them would be a match against Inter Milan and it would be a cracking game, good bye for now. Cheers.

Premier League Matchday 14 Review; Liverpool score late goal to keep the pressure on Manchester City

After 14 Matchdays in the English Premier League, the only team stopping Manchester City from opening a huge point gap on the rest of the division is Liverpool, and the Reds stayed close in a miraculous fashion at the weekend. There were other surprising results as well as Wolves continue their slump and Manchester United continued to struggle at home. Welcome to Premier League review this week. Cardiff City 2 vs. 1 Wolves Cardiff City and Wolves met for another match after their fiery encounter in the Championship last season, and the Welsh side had the last laugh. Wolves opened the scoring through a Matt Doherty goal, but Cardiff City rallied round in the second half to record their 3rd league win of the season. Manchester City 3 vs. 1 Bournemouth Courageous Bournemouth took the game to Manchester City in this Saturday lunch time encounter, but the Cityzens proved too strong for Eddie Howe’s men and secured all three points. The goals came from Bernado Silva, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gondugan after Callum Wilson had equalized for the Cherries. Leicester City 2 vs. 0 Watford Watford continued their poor form when they face Leicester City in this game. The Hornets went down to two first half goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison. They were so frustrated that they even had a man sent off in the 90th minute. Crystal Palace 2 vs. 0 Burnley Palace kept their recent good form intact as they followed up picking up a draw against Manchester United in their last game by beating out-of-form Burnley in this game. That was Palace’s 3rd win of the season and sent Burnley down to the 19th position with Liverpool up next for the Clarets. Newcastle 0 vs. 3 West Ham Newcastle had returned to form recently but they couldn’t keep up the good work they have done recently when West Ham came to town at the weekend. The Magpies fell to an 11th minute goal by Javier Hernandez and could not get back into this game, the Hammers finished them off with two more goals in the final half hour. Huddersfield 1 vs. 2 Brighton Huddersfield looked like they were on their way to yet another Premier League win when they took the lead in the very first minute in this game. However, Steve Mounie was shown a red card just after the half hour mark and the Seagulls took advantage of their man superiority and won the game. Southampton 2 vs. 2 Manchester United Manchester United continued to struggle as they could only manage a draw against a struggling Southampton side. The Red Devils were 2-0 behind inside the first 20 minutes, but they rallied round to equalize before the break. In the second half, they were back to their normal self with no desire to collect all the points. Chelsea 2 vs. 0 Fulham Chelsea recovered well from losing to Tottenham in their last league game to secure the win and inflict the first defeat of his reign on Claudio Ranieri. Goals from Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were enough to see off the Cottagers. Arsenal 4 vs. 2 Tottenham Arsenal emerged victors in this closely contested north London derby. The Gunners were first to score through Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, but they were soon behind as Tottenham turned the game on its head to get in the lead 2-1 at half time. Aaron Ramsey came off the bench to provide two assists for the Gunners to win the game 4-2. Liverpool 1 vs. 0 Everton Everton would feel hard done by after Liverpool left it late to secure a 1-0 win against them. The Toffees are now winless in their last 19 Merseyside derbies and would go into the New Year having never won at Anfield in 20 years. Divock Origi came off the bench to score the game’s winner after Jordan Pickford made a horrendous mistake from a Virgil van Dijk’s volley that seem to be going out of play. The Premier League resumes in midweek with some interesting fixtures, we would be back with the review of the next matchday. Cheers.

Wolves vs Chelsea MatchPlug Match Preview Soccer Prediction and Betting Tips

Wolves’ honeymoon phase is over and they have now entered the harsh realities of Premier League life for a team that has just been promoted to the English top flight. After an impressive start to Premier League life, the Mindlands club has now collected just only a point from the last 18 that was made available to them. They were beaten 2-1 by Cardiff City in their last league game despite taking the lead. That loss was perhaps the clearest indication that they are in trouble at the moment. They would now face Chelsea who recovered well from their loss to Tottenham by beating both PAOK and Fulham to nil, and it looks like another defeat may be on the cards for Wolves here. Chelsea’s loss to Tottenham can be attributed to having a bad day and they would be looking to go into their weekend game against Manchester City having secured a win at Molineux here. Chelsea have won 10 of their last 11 matches against Wolves, eight of those 10 victories were with a clean sheet for the Blues.
