Chelsea return to Everton to sign Ross Barkley

Chelsea have made a fresh approach to sign Ross Barkley from Everton. The Blues were close to signing the England attacking midfielder last summer, he had reportedly even gone to London for a medical on deadline day. However, Barkley surprisingly changed his mind at the last minute and decided to get fit first before reassessing his future. The Blues had agreed a £35 Million deal with the Toffees at the time, however, they would be looking to sign for a much cheaper price now. According to The Sun, Chelsea made a fresh approach for his signature last night with an offer believed to be around £20 million. Barkley has just six months left in his current Everton deal and there is no hope of him signing a new deal after he told the Toffees he wanted a new challenge. He has not played any game this season, but he has returned to fitness. Tottenham are also interested in signing Barkley, and it is believed that they are his first choice, however, Chelsea are looking to steal a march on their London rivals and they would be hoping he decides to join them this month.

Alexis Sanchez has agreed to sign for Manchester City next summer when his current Arsenal contract would have expired, but he may be moving to the Etihad this month. The Cityzens came close to signing Alexis Sanchez last summer, and already had a contract offer over in Chile on the final day of the transfer, but Arsenal’s failure to land Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco made them decide against selling, even though they risked losing him for free. However, with the news that Gabriel Jesus would be out with injury for two months, Guardiola feels he needs cover for the Brazilian attacker and Sanchez is a like for like replacement. Guardiola signed Sanchez for Barcelona when he managed the Catalans and the duo are eager to be reunited again. Sanchez has been targetted by PSG and Bayern Munich in the past, but his insistence that he wants to move only to the Etihad has seen other suitors move on to their other targets.

Jose Mourinho ask Manchester United to sign Danny Rose for £50 million

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has urged his club’s bosses to open their checkbook and sign Danny Rose from Tottenham. Rose has been a Mourinho target since he took over at Old Trafford and he could have signed the England left-back last summer. But Rose was injured and was sidelined for nine month with a knee injury. He is currently nursing another injury on the same knee, but Manchester United have been assured that it is not the same as the one he had before and he should be back to action in three weeks. Mourinho considers the left back position his team’s problem spot as the players at his disposal who can play that wing have not impressed. He has had to use Ashley Young in that position this season, and while the England man has done a good job, the Portuguese tactician wants a natural player to play there. Tottenham are not interested in letting Rose leave half way through the season, but if Manchester bids around £50 Million and they are able to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham as his replacement, they would sell.

According to Sun Sport,  Zaha has revealed that he would not be leaving Crystal Palace this month. The winger has been in blistering form this season, and his performances for the Eagles has seen him linked with a host of top clubs who believe he is ready for the big time once again. According to reports in Portugal and Italy, the Italian Serie A leaders have stolen a match on United and have agreed to sign Grimaldo for £27 million. The Sun claims the Italians are currently negotiating personal terms with the 22 years old. If he does join Napoli, it would be a major blow  to Manchester United who are still in the hunt for a long term solution to their problematic left back, and that would force them to intensify their efforts to sign Tottenham’s Danny Rose.
