Kalidou Koulibaly

Kalidou Koulibaly’s Chelsea EXIT confirmed as defender joins MEGA-RICH Al-Hilal

Kalidou Koulibaly has officially left Chelsea after just one season, with the Senegalese defender singing for Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.  Koulibaly arrived from Napoli last summer amid much fanfare as he was seen as a perfect replacement for German defender Antonio Rudiger, who had joined Real Madrid.  He made his debut away at Everton and endeared himself to the Blues fans after marking his first home game with a fantastic volley against Tottenham Hotspur. He also scored his second Chelsea goal in a London derby away to Fulham.  However, these contributions were not enough to pass him as a success at Stanford Bridge. He made 32 appearances for the Blues during his sole campaign at Stamford Bridge. The former Napoli centre-back is not the last Chelsea player that will sign for a Saudi Pro League club his summer. Fellow Africans Halim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy are expected to complete transfers to Al Nassr and Al Ahli, respectively, in the next few days.

Ilkay Gundogan joins Barcelona

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has signed for Barcelona after leaving the Etihad on a free transfer. The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder will join the Camp Nou side on a two-year deal – with the option of a 12-month extension. Man City wanted to keep Gundogan behind this summer. Still, he rejected a contract extension in favour of a move to Spain, ending his seven-year association with City, with whom he won twelve major trophies, including a historic treble last season. The 32-year-old scored 60 goals in 304 games for the Cityzens and was an important figure in the dressing room under Pep Guardiola. When I had to break the news to the boys that I was leaving in our group chat, I was very emotional. I will miss all of them, honestly. But I am happy to say that I’m leaving here as a champion, and I have nothing but love for the club in my heart. “It’s amazing what we achieved. Five Premier League titles in my seven years here. Two FA Cups. The Champions League. The treble. But those are just trophies. The thing that I will remember the most is the feeling inside the squad, especially this season. I’ve never experienced something like it in football.” Gundogan also spoke about his move to Barcelona, admitting that he had always wanted to join the Spanish club. “If I was going to move, there is only one club in the world that made sense.  “It was Barcelona or nothing. Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed of wearing that shirt someday.”

Newcastle REACH agreement with AC Milan for Sandro Tonali

Newcastle United have reached an agreement with AC Milan for the signing of  Italy international midfielder Sandro Tonali.  The Magpies are keen on adding a creative midfielder to their ranks this summer and have targeted Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella and Leicester City midfielder James Maddison. But the price tag of both players has discouraged them from pursuit, with Inter wanting £70million for Barella while Leicester want £60million for Maddison, who has been leaning towards a move to Tottenham. Read more: Manchester United is ACTIVELY searching for a NEW GOALKEEPER as David de Gea contract talks continue Inter and Leicester’s valuation of both players has led Newcastle to chase Italy international Tonali, who they expect to get for less. Earlier this week, Eddie Howe’s side presented an opening bid of £42million (€50million) for the player. But according to 90min, they have now agreed on a deal with Newcastle, with the Magpies expected to pay €70m (£60m), including add-ons. That would make Tonali the second most expensive signing of all time at St. James Park, following last year’s capture of Swedish forward Alexander Isak. Tonali will now undergo a medical in Romania – where Italy are based for the European Under-21 Championships – before putting pen to paper on a six-year contract. The 23-year-old has 14 senior caps for Italy. He has made 130 appearances for AC Milan and won the Serie A title in the 2021-22 season.

Manchester United is ACTIVELY searching for a NEW GOALKEEPER as David de Gea contract talks continue

Manchester United are actively in the market for a new goalkeeper despite continuing talks with current number one David de Gea. The Red Devils and de Gea have been in discussion since last year over renewing the goalkeeper’s contract, which expires this month. United revealed last week that they are still locked in negotiations with the Spaniard when announcing their retained list. However, according to 90min, Man United are still looking to sign a new goalkeeper despite progressing in talks with de Gea. The 32-year-old received a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League but is expected to turn it down in favour of staying at Old Trafford. However, United are not the only side interested in Raya, with the Spaniard currently in talks with Tottenham. But Spurs are unwilling to meet the Bees’ £40m asking price, which could open the door for the Red Devils, who are willing to stump up that sum.  Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag also remains a huge fan of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, having worked with the Cameroonian at Ajax. Inter may need to sell the 27-year-old to balance their books, so his move to Old Trafford is a huge possibility. But Chelsea are reportedly interested in Onana, with the future of Eduoard Mendy uncertain. Should De Gea sign a new contract, it is less likely that Manchester United will spend a huge amount on a new goalkeeper.
