Steven Gerrard ready to become new Leeds United manager after numerous candidates rejected job

Former Aston Villa and Rangers coach Steven Gerrard is keen to occupy the vacant managerial seat at Leeds United. The Elland Road side are still without a full-time manager after sacking Jesse Marsch last week. The American coach was relieved of his duties after a poor run of results that saw Leeds drop to 17th on the table, one point above the relegation zone. The club have sought to replace him but have faced rejection from multiple coaches. According to reports, their first-choice replacement, Carlos Corberan, signed a new 18-month deal with West Brom on Monday. Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola also refused to leave his current side despite Leeds sending a delegation to convince him. The former England international has been out of management since November after being sacked by Aston Villa following six defeats in 11 league games. Thiago Silva extends Chelsea contract until 2024

Thiago Silva has renewed his Chelsea contract until 2024. The Brazilian has been a mainstay in the Chelsea backline since he arrived at Stamford Bridge from Pasris Saint-Germain two years ago. Despite turning 38 years last September, Silva has shown few signs of slowing down, leading to Chelsea rewarding him with a contract that will last until he is almost 40 years old. West Ham rejected Manchester United’s £100m bid for Rice last summer

Manchester United reportedly made a £100 million ($120m) bid for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice last summer but were rebuffed as West Ham wanted more for the player. Last summer, the Old Trafford side were in desperate need of a combative, ball-carrying midfielder and saw Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong as the perfect player. But when their move for the Netherlands player stalled, the Red Devil approached West Ham for Rice. However, the London club were not satisfied with their  £100m bid and were holding out for £120m ($144m), plus add-ons. Current Premier League leaders Arsenal are in the lead to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic should he leave Lazio this summer. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serbian midfielder has made an ‘irreversible decision’ to leave the club this summer or when his contract ends in June 2024.  The player was in demand last summer, but Lazio demanded up to £100m for him. Bernado Silva eager to leave Manchester City this summer

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has reportedly asked his club to allow him to leave this summer. The Portugal international has been the subject of speculation since last July and could have joined Barcelona last summer. But City were not interested in selling the player and held firm despite strong pressure from Barcelona. However, according to reports in Spain, the 28-year-old will ask to leave this summer and is prepared to listen to approaches from Barcelona or Real Madrid.
