Jurgen Klopp admits he waited TOO LONG to change things at Liverpool this season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he took too long to change ‘big things’ at the club following their struggles earlier this season. Liverpool’s hopes of securing a top-four finish look dead and buried last month as they found themselves 12 points off Newcastle and Manchester United. However, a run of six consecutive league wins has them sitting just one point behind Manchester United, who occupy that fourth and final spot and hold a game-in-hand. Read more: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer URGED Manchester United to sign Erling Haaland for just £ 4 million in 2018 That means that Klopp’s men are now depending on Manchester United or Newcastle to drop points in their remaining three games of the season.  The German manager has now spoken about his slide’s recent improvement, claiming that he wishes he had made the bold call earlier.  Ahead of their trip to Leicester on Monday, Klopp said: “I spoke about that quite frequently. We tried to give ourselves a chance for a fresh start. We tried different football things. “We had eight or nine days for training between games. We wanted to almost start the new season already; it was a breath of fresh air for all of us. “We want to control the game differently, protect it differently, build up differently. It’s really good fun for us to create something new. Then the results came in, and it’s not a complete coincidence. Sometimes you have to change big things, most of the time only little things, but sometimes you do have to change big things, that is clear.  “We had a good reason to change things; imagine we changed it after we nearly won four trophies last season.” Klopp then went on to make an admission about the changes as he added: “We maybe started it this season a bit late.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer URGED Manchester United to sign Erling Haaland for just £ 4 million in 2018

Former Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he told his former side to buy Erling Haaland for £ 4 million in 2018, but the club refused.  Solskjaer and Haaland worked together at Norwegian side Molde before the latter joined RB Salzburg. He joined the club from Bryne in 2017.  After spells in Austria and Germany, Haaland eventually left Norway for the Premier League. At City, he is lighting up the league and is undoubtedly one of the world football stars. Gareth Bale’s agent SHOOTS DOWN Wrexham Rumours

The agent of former Real Madrid and Tottenham attacker Gareth Bale has dismissed the report that his client might make a shock return from retirement and sign for Wrexham.  Rumours have been spreading in recent weeks of Bale making a sensational return to professional football with  Welsh minnows Wrexham. The League Two side’s fans had been hopeful that the move would happen after the five-time Champions League winner exchanged pleasantries with Wrexham’s co-owner Rob McElhenney on social media last month.  Rob McElhenney and Bale discussed playing a potential round of golf together before the former suggested that he would try and persuade the Welshman to sign for his club, which just gained promotion to the third tier of English football. When asked by Sky Sports (via Sportsmail) whether the rumours had been serious, Jonathan Barnett, who represents Bale, replied: “I don’t think so. He’s flattered by the offers, but they’ve all been tongue-in-cheek.  “He’s having a great life at the moment, and it’s well deserved. He’s been the best British footballer, probably ever.” When quizzed about the exchange between Bale and Wrexham’s owners, Barnett replied: “They haven’t actually spoken to me; they may have spoken to Gareth. But Gareth doesn’t want to play football anymore.  “He’s had a great career, he enjoyed himself, but he’s living a great life now. He’s with his family, which is the most important thing.  “He’s spending a lot of time with his children, and that’s what he wants to do. He’ll obviously do other things later down the line.” Bale announced his retirement from football at the start of the calendar year, despite having only signed for Major League Soccer side LAFC a few months prior.

Chelsea discuss swap deals with Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix

Chelsea are reportedly considering a swap deal involving out-of-favour striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, defender Marc Cucurella, and on-loan Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix. The Blues signed Felix on loan from the Spanish club in January and have seen enough of him that they want to sign him permanently. However, their financial struggles mean that singing the 23-year-old might be impossible. They are reportedly looking at a second loan agreement, at around £16 million ($20m), with Chelsea reluctant to meet Atletico’s £100m ($126m) asking price in any permanent arrangement. However, they are still hoping to find a way to reduce that figure. The 23-year-old is said to be open to the idea of remaining in west London as he clearly does not figure in the long-term plans of Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

Manchester United are reportedly lining up a bid for defender Kim Min-jae after his impressive debut season with Napoli in the Serie A. The Red Devils want to bolster their defence this summer. But Corriere dello Sport claims that Man United are looking to blow any rival suitors out of the water by tabling a bid that exceeds the release clause in Kim’s deal by offering £53million. The Red Devils have lost Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez to long-term injuries, so Luke Shaw has been deployed in central defence for United recently. Club captain Harry Maguire has also fallen out of favour at Old Trafford; therefore, there is a need for defensive reinforcements in the summer window.
