Antonio Conte Urges Napoli to Enjoy Title Race

Napoli manager Antonio Conte has encouraged his players to enjoy being near the top of Serie A without feeling the pressure of the title race. Speaking ahead of their crucial clash with league leaders Inter Milan, Antonio Conte emphasized the importance of staying focused. Napoli, currently one point behind Inter with 56 points from 26 games, aim to build on their 2022/23 title success and put last season’s disappointing 10th-place finish behind them. “Beyond the standings, I would have expected a Napoli that, after seven months, would start taking shape,” Conte, who took charge at the start of the season, told reporters. “Finding ourselves in this position should fill us with pride, but it shouldn’t put pressure on us. “As I told the guys, sometimes pressure can be positive, other times negative. That’s why I keep telling the players to enjoy this moment. We earned this position in the standings through our hard work… “In general the match is influential on the standings because there are three points available and there are many teams close by.”

Bayern super focused on Bayern Leverkusen Match

Bundesliga Bayern Munich will be hosted by VfB Stuttgart on Friday, hoping for a strong performance ahead of next week’s Champions League last-16 first-leg tie. While securing a win against Stuttgart is important to strengthen their position at the top, much of the Bayern’s attention in the Bundesliga is already on their upcoming showdown with Bayern Leverkusen. Bayern have won eight of their last nine league games and sit eight points ahead of second-placed Leverkusen. However, they have struggled in the fixture, failing to win in their last six meetings. “The game in Stuttgart is crucial for us because we want to protect our position in the standings,” said Bayern sports director Max Eberl in a press conference on Thursday. “It will not be easy against a solid club that played in the Champions League this season. For us it is a Champions League game against a Champions League club. What it will mean for the Leverkusen game, we will have to wait and see.”

Saints GM Mickey Loomis Confident in Derek Carr Return

After weeks of speculation about Derek Carr possibly leaving New Orleans after two seasons, it looks like he’ll be back in 2025. Saints GM Mickey Loomis told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine that the team is “excited” to have him return. “I think we feel like we’ve got a guy we can win with,” Loomis said, via ESPN’s Katherine Terrell. The reason why rumors were spreading concerning Carr’s exit was because of his hefty contract. With the Saints projected to be nearly $60 million over the 2025 salary cap, they need to make cuts before the new league year begins on March 12. Carr’s contract, which has a $51.4 million cap hit in 2025, was seen as a way to ease that financial pressure.

Brad Holmes Unlikely to Pursue Star Pass Rusher in Offseason Moves

It doesn’t seem like Lions General Manager Brad Holmes is willing to make a big splash this offseason. While Detroit has been linked to star pass rushers in trade and free agency, Holmes was direct when asked at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine if he planned to add another: “Probably not.” His response followed his comments on how hard it is to find talented edge rushers, especially after losing Aidan Hutchinson mid-season to a fractured leg. “It’s hard. There’s not a lot of those guys available,” Brad Holmes said. “And so just because we lost a star pass rusher due to injury, that doesn’t mean that other teams are going to say, ‘Hey, we have a star pass rusher. I know you lost one, but we have one. Would you like to have this one?’ “No, that’s a star pass rush for that team, and they’re trying to win games. So, and it’s not just a trade deadline, it’s, you know, free agency, during the year. Those guys are hard to find, you know, that’s why it’s called a premium position. Those guys are hard to acquire, and it’s hard to keep them financially, you know. Again, we have one that’s due for an extension, and we’ve already kind of gotten to the planning stages about him already. So when you talk about adding another one, it’s like, well, alright, can you financially add another one? Because you want to add the other one on top of everything else that you have, and that makes it tough.”

Mike Green Clears the Air about Sexual Assault Allegations

Marshall edge rusher Mike Green spoke openly 2 at the NFL Scouting Combine about why he departed from Virginia in 2022. He denied two sexual assault allegations, insisting he has “done nothing wrong.” Green said he was “suspended” from Virginia before transferring to Marshall in 2023, where he led the FBS with 17 sacks in 2024 and and is rated by NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah as the No. 17 prospect in this year’s draft. Until now, he had never explained the reason for his exit from Virginia. “There’s accusations out there,” Mike Green said. “I’ve never been questioned. I’ve never been asked. You know what I’m saying? Like, nobody ever asked me a question about what happened before I departed from Virginia. It was just accusations that caused me to leave from there.” When asked about how many accusations he has faced, Green said there were two, one in high school and one “anonymous report” in college. “As you can see, throughout this process I’ve been rising higher and higher and higher,” he said. “That should tell you everything that you need to know. I’ve been sticking to the process, like I said earlier, and I’ve been telling the truth. I have no concerns and I have no problem with talking to these teams about it because I know who I am and I know the truth.”

Travis Kelce expected to return for 13th NFL season

It doesn’t seem like Travis Kelce is done yet. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is expected to return for his 13th NFL season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The news comes Chiefs GM Brett Veach’s comments at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he said Kelce is “fired up” about coming back. Kelce is already recognized as one of the greats and he’s set to break more records in 2025. “We left it as, he’d be back and we’re excited to get him back and get him going,” Veach told reporters. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid also expressed confidence in a Travis Kelce return during a Tuesday inteview with NFL Senior National Columnist Judy Battista. “I think it will all work out. But I’m big on that, I’m big on stepping away,” Reid said. “I mean, Trav is positive. There’s no negative to it. But step back and get yourself away from it. … You just think clearer. We obviously hope he’s coming back. He’s been positive in that direction. We’ll cross all that here next week or so.”
