Riyad Mahrez could leave Manchester City this summer with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli preparing to make a £30 million ($39m) bid for the City winger.
The Algerian still has two years to run on his current deal at the Etihad Stadium, but Al-Ahli have set their sights on signing him.
According to The Athletic, the 32-year-old is undecided about signing for the Saudi Arabian club despite a salary offer in the region of £25m-per-year ($32m) from Al-Ahli.
As per the report, Pep Guardiola’s side is said to be also mulling over the deal and are aren’t in a hurry to accept, even if it would represent terrific value for money considering Mahrez’s age.
As it stands, much will depend on whether both the Algerian and City are eager to accept the deal.
Mahrez is still a key player for City and Pep Guardiola.
The situation will continue to evolve over the coming weeks.
Chelsea have informed Inter Milan that they will only accept £40 million or more to sell Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian, who spent last season on loan at San Siro, has informed Chelsea that he wants to join Inter permanently.
The Italian side has offered Chelsea £30m for the Belgian, but the Blues have rejected that offer and are holding out for at least £40m, according to 90min.
As per the report, Chelsea and Inter have been locked in negotiations over Lukaku for months, with the Premier League giants rejecting Inter’s offer to take Lukaku on loan.
The Blues want to recover as much money as possible from their initial £97.5m investment and will not budge unless an offer close to their valuation of Lukaku is met.
Sources close to the deal claim Inter will return with an improved offer in the coming days, as they want to seal the deal early before other clubs become involved.
Juventus have indicated interest in signing Lukaku, while there have also been concrete offers from Saudi Arabia. However, the player wants to remain in Europe at this stage of his career, and he prefers remaining at San Siro over a move to Juventus.
Torres becomes Villa’s second signing of the summer after the Midlands club signed Youri Tielemans from Leicester City for free.
With his addition to the squad, Villa now boasts an array of quality centre-backs. He joins Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings and Diego Carlos as centre-back options for Emery.
Villa had teased the long-awaited signing by posting a video of a player wearing the club’s new kit with the caption: “Good things come to those who wait.”
The club then posted the official reveal ushering in his arrival, saying: “Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Spanish international Pau Torres from Villarreal!”
This is unlikely to be the end of Villa’s summer transfer activity, with the club targeting a wide forward as well as another midfielder and a striker.
Both Brennan Johnson and Harvey Barnes are on the radar though Forest will let Johnson go only if they receive about £50million
Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo has admitted that he is desperate to join Chelsea this summer as he calls the Blues a ‘beautiful team’.
Caicedo was one of the key members of the Brighton squad that finished sixth in the Premier League last season. He was instrumental in the Seagulls’ finish, and his performance led to interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
Although the Gunners have given up in their chase for his signature, the Blues have remained interested. They have opened negotiations with Brighton over the deal.
However, the Seagulls want £100 million for the Ecuadorian, who has now revealed that he is keen to move to London.
“It’s a big team, that’s true,” Caicedo told La Cancha Con Majo via Sportsmail.
“A very historic team, and I can’t say no because it is a very big, historic, beautiful team. The city as well is beautiful.”
Although he helped Brighton qualify for the Europa League for the first time in the club’s history, the 21-year-old says he is grateful to De Zerbi’s side for giving him an opportunity in the Premier League.
“They opened the door for me in the Premier League,’ he said.’I am very happy to be there; all the moments that I have shared there I will always carry with me.
“The truth is this has been a dream year for me. Thanks to God, I have achieved many things, and I am very happy to be doing what I like the most at a very high level and that people are speaking highly of me.
“So that’s something that’s very, very nice, something that I dreamed of, and now I am living it.”
Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign highly-rated Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.
The defender, one of the stars of England’s European Under-21 Championship success this summer, impressed hugely on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion last season.
The Seagulls have indicated interest in signing him permanently, but Chelsea have made it clear they don’t want to sell the 21-year-old.
The Blues want to integrate the 20-year-old into their first team this summer after selling Kalidou Koulibaly. However, the Englishman is far from convinced that his long-term future should be at Chelsea, as he is unsure of his first-team chances.
Colwill’s current deal is due to expire in 2025, and Chelsea is looking to extend it, but as it stands, talks have not advanced.
90min is now reporting that Liverpool feel confident that they can pry Colwill away from Stamford Bridge amid this contract stand-off, despite Chelsea’s insistence that he is not for sale. The defender is a childhood Liverpool fan and has a strong relationship with the younger first-team members at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been focussing on overhauling their midfield this summer, and with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai already signed, they are now also looking at defensive options, and a new centre-half is in their sights.
Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed the signing of Israeli forward Manor Solomon on a free transfer.
Solomon, whose contract at Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk expired in June, has agreed to join the Premier League side on a five-year deal following his fruitful loan spell at Fulham last campaign.
Solomon spent last season on loan at Fulham. He began his season-long stint at Craven Cottage with a serious knee injury but went on to chalk up 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals.
With Solomon joining, Ange Posteclogue will now focus on sorting out the future of wantaway striker Harry Kane.
The England international, with just one year left on his contract, is subject to two huge bids from Bayern Munich. He has communicated his desire to leave this summer. However, Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to sell him.

Indianapolis took a huge chance signing quarterback Anthony Richardson with the No.4 overall pick in April’s draft and Colts owner Jim Irsay believes that the newbie should take the fielder soon for it to pay dividends.
“As you guys know, Peyton (Manning’s rookie) year we were 3-13, the first year,” Irsay said on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday. “That’s a guy who played a lot of college games and was really prepared as much as he could be for the league. So, for Anthony Richardson, it’s going to be tough. We know that. But he has to play to get better. I mean, there’s no question. Gardner (Minshew) could come out and play better early on, him just being a veteran, but we have to get Anthony on the field. And that’s (head coach) Shane (Steichen’s) call when he decides to do it.
“
Although Irsay did not make any announcements or demands on Richardson being a Week 1 starter, instead leaving that decision to this new head coach, he made his stance on his rookie being tested by the fires clear.
Richardson who has not signed his rookie contract yet, has 4.4 speed and a canon arm but lacks experienced.
He was Florida’s full-time starter for only one season, his draft slot was hard to forecast until the Colts bought him.
He enters the League with 215 completions in 393 attempts during his collegiate career, which summed up to 3,105 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. Richardson also had 1,116 rushing yards and 12 scores on the ground.
Manning, comparatively, was a four-year starter at Tennessee with 380 or higher pass attempts in every of his last three seasons. He struggled in his first year at the helm, tossing a league-leading 28 interceptions, but he and the Colts became a formidable force with double-digit victories in 11 of his next 12 seasons.
This is a future Jim Irsay hopes to witness behind his third first-round QB as an owner.
With Irsay’s support to start Richardson on time, it seems the Florida product already has an edge on his competition entering training camp.
Anthony Richardson had 6,632 passing yards, 44 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, he has displayed signs of staying power in 24 career starts. He would probably be Indiana’s best shot at competing in the early quarter of 2023, but there is a chance the Colts take the long-view approach at the end of a 4-12-1 season.
There will be growing discomfort when Richardson takes the lineup, especially since the offensive line permitted 60 sacks last season (second-highest in the NFL).
But his legs give him the best shot of a Colts QB to create something out of nothing in case the O-line becomes porous again, and he will have excellent safety nets to aid his learning curve thanks to All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor and possession wide receiver Michael Pittman.
Plus, the earlier Richardson takes the pitch, the sooner he can start playing for his lofty ceiling in earnest.
Northwestern has fired head coach Pat Fitzgerald amidst a hazing scandal that questioned his ability to lead the program and tainted the university’s reputation after it mishandled its reaction to the accusations.
Fitzgerald’s sack on Monday brought on a quick fall from grace for the ex-Northwestern linebacker. He had been deeply connected to his alma mater, a yearly on any list of college coaches with the best job security.
“The head coach is ultimately responsible for the culture of his team,” Northwestern President Michael Schill wrote in an open letter. “The hazing we investigated was widespread and clearly not a secret within the program, providing Coach Fitzgerald with the opportunity to learn what was happening. Either way, the culture in Northwestern Football, while incredible in some ways, was broken in others.”
Pat Fitzgerald will start his two-week suspension on Friday after the school announced that an investigation carried out by a law firm had not found “sufficient” evidence that the coaching staff was aware of the ongoing hazing, although there were “significant opportunities’’ to find out about it.
The Daily Northwestern released a story on Saturday chronicling allegations from an ex-player who described specific hazing incidents and sexual abuse within the team. The report showed that Fitzgerald “may have known that hazing took place.
“
That caused Schill to write an open letter to the university community where he agreed that focusing “too much on what the report concluded (Fitzgerald) didn’t know and not enough on what he should have known.” He went on to say that he intends to meet with university leadership, members of the board of trustees and leaders of the faculty senate to decide his next steps.
Kylian Mbappe ‘would join Arsenal’ if he was to move to the Premier League
The 22-year-old has already told Arsenal he wants to leave permanently this summer unless he is guaranteed a place in the first team. He enjoyed a breakthrough campaign while on loan at Reims last season, scoring 21 Ligue 1 goals in 27 games.
His performances in France have attracted clubs from across Europe, with Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan, French sides Marseille and Monaco, and German’s RB Leipzig expressing their interest.
But according to the latest report, there is a chance Balogun could stay in London, with Chelsea keen on his services.
However, Arsenal’s valuation of the player could hinder Mauricio Pochettino’s side from landing him.
Arsenal have placed a £50million price tag on the striker, who is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
