bordalas: barcelona draw feels like a win

Bordalas: Barcelona draw feels like a win

Getafe coach Jose Bordalas says that the team’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Saturday felt like a win. Mauro Arambarri canceled out Jules Kounde’s opening for Barcelona on the night, with Bordalas left full of pride at full time.  After the match, Bordalas gave a review of how the night had gone.  His assessment of the match VS Barcelona: “Very proud, a great match, another exercise in survival for the team. We are becoming experts this season. The level of the opponent, the form, came from superb matches against Real Madrid or Betis. The team has played a great match. It tastes like a victory. You all know the difference between one rival and another and adding points was tremendously important.” The racist slurs to Alejandro Balde: “I didn’t know that. I am against any racist comment or chant. I am totally against it. If it is true, they should be found and removed from the football fields.” Update on Mauro Arambarri: “He has had an injury to his hamstring, tests will be carried out, we will see the extent of it. The doctor who came in to treat him told me this. It is a significant loss.” Yellu’s performance: “It was because he was conditioned, he is an impetuous boy, he competes at the highest level, he was not happy. Imagine me as a coach. It was hard to make that decision. It happened to me on one occasion, last season I think, we were with eleven and Jaime Mata was sent off. Jaime is a boy who gives everything and one action left us with ten. Thinking about the team. At the end of the game he told me that he understood. We have him available now.” How he feels about the draw:  “It was a very difficult game, we knew we had to play a great game. An incredible team, the options they have, the offensive capacity. We were able to get a point. It is a tremendous achievement. I want to congratulate our fans, they were great. The difference is huge at all levels, I am very happy for the boys. It was a great night.” Isma’s behaviour towards Balde and a scuffle with Hansi Flick: “It’s not that important, things that stay on the pitch, they were going to the bench with the aim of diverting attention. There was an assault or a slap to Isma. He’s a player who defends well, we have problems due to the physical wear and tear with Coba who ended up shooting. Strengthening that wing was the objective and holding on to that point that we finally got.” Problems for Barcelona: “It was a tremendous tactical and physical display by the team, very united. The plan was to close spaces, they are a team that associates well, they accumulate players behind the midfielders. We faced the start with three men, we achieved it. It’s a shame that goal with Koundé’s run. They got ahead but we didn’t lose face and we got the equalizer. We are happy with the work.”

Cardinals say trading Nolan Arenado still top priority

St. Louis Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak said that trading Nolan Arenado is still priority for the Cardinals. But he affirmed that the team is in a holding pattern with Arenado. This is due to the free-agent market, where fellow third-baseman Alex Bregman is still unsigned.  Mozeliak added that he is “hopeful” that a trade will go through but described the chances of Arenado being dealt as a “flip of the coin.’’ The Cardinals want to add to their bullpen and could buy a right-handed bat. But he said they will not act until they resolve Arenado’s future.  The Cardinals believed they had a deal to sell Arenado to the Houston Astros in mid-December. However, he exercised his full no-trade clause to block the trade. online pharmacy buy ivermectin online with best prices today in the USA Houston eventually signed Christian Walker, locking in Isaac Parders as their starting third baseman and taking themselves out of the Arenado deal. Katie Woo of the Athletic reports that the New York Yankees were also one of the teams to ask about Arenado in December. But they pulled due to St. Louis’ demands. The Cardinals refused to pay a large portion of his remaining contract. That is three years, $74 million ($10 million which the Colorado Rockies will pay) just to move him.  Woo reports that as of January 7th, there had been “next to no traction in [Arenado] trade talks’’ since St. Louis’ deal with Houston fell apart. And Arenado’s limited option of teams to join is hampering the Cardinals ability to trade him.  Multiple MLB sources told Woo that they thought the Boston Red Sox were Arenado’s last resort of being traded before the beginning of the 2025 campaign. Chris Cotillo and Sean McAdam reported on January 5th that Boston is a “preferred destination – if not the preferred destination’’ for Arenado. However, their interest in him is becoming murky. The Red Sox have also shown interest in Bregman, including the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, and Chicago Cubs. online pharmacy buy singulair online with best prices today in the USA

arsenal fall to a draw with aston villa jeopardizing title hopes

Arsenal fall to a draw with Aston Villa jeopardizing title hopes

Arsenal watched their Premier League title hopes take a devastating blow when Aston Villa came back from a two-goal deficit to force a shocking 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium. This was a fifth undefeated match in seven fixtures for Unai Emery against his former club. After watching Liverpool move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League earlier in the day, the Gunners knew they needed a positive response against a Villa side that is in-form.  Arsenal threatened an early breakthrough when Gabriel Martinelli watched Emiliano Martinez spoil a close-range effort, while Ian Maatsen’s strong drive was stopped by David Raya.  The end-to-end nature of the game continued as the first half progressed, and after Ollie Watkins rejected a good chance for Aston, Arsenal snapped the deadlock in the 35th minute.  Leandro Trossard, passed a remarkable cross to Martinelli, who passed Maatsen and sent the ball home to score his seventh goal of the season.  Mikel Arteta’s squad carried that into the early stages of the second half and soon they topped off their lead, with Kai Havertz converting from another inch-perfect Trossard delivery.  Resolute, the guests split the deficit when Youri Tielemans timed his run to bury Lucas Digne’s cross into the bottom corner. Tielemans hit the post a minute later as Villa was on the edge of an incredible turnaround.  Villa equalised the scores with 22 minutes left, as Watkins was unmarked at the back post to score using Matty Cash’s pass. Both clubs were ready for the grand finale as they chased a late winner, and Arsenal thought they had it in the 88th minute, only for Mikel Merino’s strike to be ruled out due to a handball by Havertz.  The Gunners stayed menacing, as Merino scored in stoppage time, but Aston stood their ground to claim a share of the points.

Los Angeles Dodgers become first to sign player from South Sudan

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been all over the news recently. In October, they won their first full-season World Series title in 36 years. The next month, they signed two-time CY Young Award winner Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million contract.  Since then, the Dodgers have made other massive offseason moves, re-signing slugging outfielder Teoscar Hernández, adding Korean player Hyeseong Kim and acquiring Japanese phenom pitcher Roki Sasaki.  Although Sasaki was the diamond in this year’s international class, Los Angeles made another noteworthy international move on Saturday, when they signed 17-year-old pitcher Joseph Deng, the first player from South Sudan to sign a professional baseball contract.  Deng, a 6-foot-7, 185-pound right-hander with a 95 mph fastball, is the second African player to be signed this year. He joins infielder Armstrong Muhoozi from Uganda, who the Pittsburgh Pirates signed.  At only 17, Deng has enough time to fill out his lanky frame, meaning that his spectacular fastball could become even better. He could reach triple digits in the coming years as he goes on legendary baseball journey.

diego simeone calm after leganes loss

Diego Simeone calm after Leganes loss: We’ve come off a club record

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was calm after an unexpected 1-0 loss at Leganes. Matija Nastasic scored immediately after halftime for a Leganes’ winner.  Simeone said after the match: “We have played 15 wonderful games, a record in the history of the club, it was a very nice journey that benefited us in the League, Cup and Champions League. Today the team was able to get close to scoring in the final stretch of the game, they were also dangerous, the game was about trying to win it. “After the goal they defended better and we lost height with Sorloth’s absence, that’s why we brought on Niño, but Leganés was very good defensively. We had the goal. I leave with congratulations to my players and the feeling that we made many important mistakes, but that the small details were against us this time. “The team created enough to have a better score in the first half, then they worked very hard in the second. We had the penalty, the rival did very well and we had to lose. Now we have to face one of the best in Europe.” Simeone also had a moment of reflection: “When you get used to winning, it’s harder to lose because it’s so nice. Obviously it hurts to lose, but it’s part of the journey and you have to accept it.  “The year we won the league we lost to Levante and the other year to Almería. You can win and lose against anyone. Barcelona lost five and they are the best players, they probably shouldn’t have lost any of the five.”
