Predictions And Betting Preview For Atlanta Falcons VS Houston Texans NFL Regular Season  Venue: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia. When: Sunday, October 8th, 2023. Time: 14:30 GMT Teams to play: Falcons and Texans NFL Expert Picks: MONEYLINE 1.75 Odds provided by 1XBet and BetMGM. Betting On The Atlanta Falcons  Regular Season Record: 2-2 1XBet Spread: -1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Over 41.5 1XBet Moneyline: 1.75 BetMGM Spread: -1.5 BetMGM Over/Under: Under 41.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 1.80 Atlanta Falcons are coming off a journey across the pond. They lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in Week 4 a total of 23-7 score. Their defense is on a slump, having produced only a total of 13 points in the team’s last two outings. Desmond Ridder passed for just 191 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions on 19/31 completions in the Jaguars game. He also got sacked four times for a loss of 31 yards. On that note, the Falcons attack should still be considered dangerous as it features running back Bijan Robinson who rushed 14 times for 105 yards in London. The Falcons also have a good defense that is 5th in the league with only 4.7 yards allowed per play. Betting On The Houston Texans Regular Season Record: 2-2 1XBet Spread: +1.5 1XBet Over/Under: Under 41.5 1XBet Moneyline: 2.1 BetMGM Spread: +1.5 BetMGM Over/Under: Over 41.5 BetMGM Moneyline: 2.05 CJ Stroud seems to be getting into a good flow in the pros. He passed for 306 yards and two touchdowns while avoiding throwing a pick and going 16/30 in Houstons’ 30-6 last week over the Pittsburgh Steelers at home. Although Stroud has had many incompletions, he is obviously playing better this season than the quarterback that was drafted before him this year, Bryce Young from the Carolina Panthers. Houston is on a two-game win streak and hit the road with a 4-1 record against the spread in their last five matches in enemy territory. With a seemingly underrated receiving corps with Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Robert Woods, CJ is ready to deliver another powerful performance this weekend. MatchPlug Prediction For Atlanta Falcons VS Houston Texans  With the Atlanta Falcons back on their home field, Robinson delivers a better play than the one he did in London. He should lead Atlanta to a win and cover. Final Prediction: Atlanta Falcons Moneyline.

randy arozarena's mom throws first pitch

Randy Arozarena’s mom throws first pitch at first MLB game

Randy Arozarena invited his mother Sandra González to kick off the postseason by throwing out the first pitch on Tuesday at Tropicana Field. González visited the Tampa Bay area from her home in Mexico on Monday, Arozarena said. Game 1 of the Rays’ American League Wild Card Series against the Texas Rangers was the first time she watched her son play a Major League game. So she made her way to the middle of the infield on Tuesday afternoon, and Randy took his position behind the plate to catch a long-awaited first pitch that he requested. “I’m just really happy that she’s here,” Arozarena said before the game through Rays communications manager Elvis Martinez. “It’s a really proud moment for me and my family, and I’m really excited that that’s going to happen.” The pitch had been a long time coming, according to Randy. The All-Star outfielder defected from Cuba to Mexico in late 2015 and ultimately became a Mexican citizen in April 2022, with the unwavering support of his mother. “We actually [made] that decision as a family. I was the older brother, like the man of the house, so I had to tell her that that’s what I was thinking,” Arozarena said. “She supported it, and you know the rest.” González left Cuba for Mexico in 2017, which was Randy’s first season in the Cardinals’ Minor League system. Arozarena and his professional soccer player brother, Raiko, have been able to visit their mother in Mexico over the years, as recently as last offseason in his case. Randy Arozarena’s mother still watches her son’s games on TV in Mexico. However, the family have been working to get a visa for Sandra for five years, Arozarena said, and her applications were refused for four years. She could not be there in person to witness Randy’s spectacular ascent into a postseason hero, World Baseball Classic sensation and fan-favorite player around Tropicana Field. The last time Randy Arozarena’s mother watched him play a match, he figured, was in Mexico in 2017. But he said they restarted the application process a few weeks ago, and she finally got a visa that permitted her to travel to the United States. “I’m really happy and blessed that she’s here,” Arozarena said. “It’s also important that she’s going to watch me playing in the playoffs, [so it] is really important for me that she’s here in a game like this.” When asked how González would handle her first pitch, Arozarena said with a smile that she throws hard but hoped it would be a strike. Wearing a No. 56 Arozarena Devil Rays jersey,  that was what she delivered.

players discuss the participation policy

NBA Players discuss the new participation policy

The NBA Board of Governors approved a new participation policy mainly geared toward star players, in September. With new policies and penalties abound, the NBA has made it a rule that all healthy players should be on the court.  There is no argument from the players, who said they are not interested in sitting. Some players do not agree with load management any more than the fans who cannot understand why some of the world’s best athletes often need a night off. However, they need the NBA to understand that there are situations like Kawhi Leonard’s lone season in Toronto when they must listen to their bodies or their doctors. “I was coming from an injury and you have to know the details of the doctor,” Leonard, now with the Los Angeles Clippers, said Monday. “But if the league is seeing or trying to mock what I did with the Raptors, they should stop because I was injured the whole year. But other than that, if I’m able to play, I’ll play basketball. I’ll work out every day in the summertime to play the game, not to sit and watch people play. No league policy is helping me to play more games.” A few of Leonard’s absences in recent years are the type the league wants to eliminate with its Player Participation Policy that will take effect this season. Leonard missed 22 games in 2018-19, the Toronto Raptors were careful to avoid overuse after he came back from a thigh injury that limited him to nine games the previous season. The NBA believes that those scheduled nights, called load management have become too rampant and can be potentially bad for business if they drive away viewers. “I think the league is trying to figure out ways to make our game better, to help grow the game, understanding that fan engagement is important for all of us,” said New Orleans guard CJ McCollum, the president of the players’ association. “As a fan of sports, when you go to a game, you want the stars to play. You’re paying a premium on the ticket … or maybe it’s the cable package or whatever you have, you want to see the best players play.” The participation policy will prevent teams, without approval, from resting multiple key players  (read as anyone who was an All-NBA or All-Star selection in the prior three seasons) in the same match, or sitting healthy ones in national TV or in-season tournament games. The league vowed to investigate certain absences, with penalties that would surpass $1 million if a team has three violations. “Obviously the NBA is always trying to find a way to get the best players playing. And why? Well, because we want people to tune into their TVs and watch,” said Michael Malone, coach of the NBA champion Denver Nuggets. “And they’re going to watch when the best players show up every night and play.” That has happened far too infrequently in recent years. Even as the league has reduced back-to-back games from teams’ schedules and reduced and improved their travel, some top players rarely come close to 82 games. Players bear the brunt of the criticism from fans, even though Commissioner Adam Silver, well before the new policy was introduced in September, has said it’s often the teams deciding when they will be rested. “I think the league’s approach in trying to get players to player more, I think that’s great. I’m trying to play as many games as I possibly can,” Boston’s Jaylen Brown said. “It don’t always be the players. I know that’s the narrative, that it’s the players that decide not to play. I won’t go into detail, but that’s not always the case.” There is another new policy which addresses them more directly. The new Collective Bargaining Agreement requires players, in most cases, to play in 65 regular-season matches to qualify for awards like MVP or the All-NBA teams. “I think there are guys across the league that may sit out because they don’t want to play or they want to rest or whatever it may be. But I think playing a minimum of 65 games, I think that’s smart for the league, for the fans, for everybody,” Miami’s Tyler Herro said. “This is a business at the end of the day. A lot of people come to watch us play. I wouldn’t want to be a fan that came to see me play and I’m not playing because I don’t want to.” Marcus Smart won the Defensive Player of the Year award last season in Boston and certainly would want to disqualify himself this season by missing too many matches. But he understands that he will need to miss some, and like Leonard, will not be compelled by the NBA’s new participation policy. “I can care less what anybody says about that, because they’re not out there throwing their body around like I am,” said Smart, now in Memphis. “So I don’t see how you can tell me when I should and shouldn’t play. If I don’t feel like I can play, then I’m not playing. But if I’m available and I can play, best believe I’m going.”
